Friendly, efficient service and good freshly cooked food of generous portions. We have eaten here many times over the last 30 years and have NEVER been disappointed. The inexpensive set menu has an excellent choice of dishes (3 courses for £9.95!!) but if you want to splash out, you will not be disappointed in the Banquets or A La Carte... More

We have eaten here on many occasions, the food is fantastic. It is very good value for money to. The only downside to the restaurant is the deco it is in desperate need of some modernisation. This won't stop us going back, but it really needs some desperate money spending on it.

Visited Happy Village for a birthday celebration, it is very much tucked away along Market Street and wouldn't have noticed it but had seen good reviews on Tripadvisor and that is why we decided to try it. Very nice inside and the lady serving us was very pleasant and welcoming. We had one of the banquets and it had a... More

Chose to go here instead of overpriced top Spinners, so glad we did. £9.95 3 course set menu with lots of choice and added a quarter crispy duck. 2 pints and pot Chinese tea came to under £35. Great service but most importantly ace food. Yes the decor could be improved but based on taste and value it's a sure... More

The decor gives the feel of a Chinese restaurant from 25 years ago but this gives it a certain cosy charm. The staff are pleasant and the service is always efficient - been here many times. The food is fantastic and the weekday menu coming in at under £10 is amazing value. Highly recommended.

This is our second visit here, after recently discovering this little gem quite by chance. We would happily go more often, but our 12-yr old isn't particularly into Chinese food, so we can only go when he's doing a sleepover at a friends house or some other such activity. We ate from the set menu - there's a range of... More
