A real gem

After a long walk we were only looking for a cuppa but the staff were so friendly and the food looked so good we ended up having a lot more.

There seem to be a thousand specials all have been very nice so far. They come with lots of different types of salads on the side. Like cous cous, potato salad, bean salad, coleslaw etc. The portions are big and are perfect for brunch too. The outside area is very cute only downside like a lot of Whitstable is that... More

Popped in here for coffee after a long windy, winter walk from Seasalter. Whitstable was busy and most of the regular coffee shops were full- so ventured up the high street looking for somewhere to eat. Almost missed this one . only a small sign on the highstreet directing you 5 mins down the road. So glad we did. ....... More

Really nice place with friendly staff and a good snacks menu. Best of all it has a sun trap of a small courtyard and a quiet area upstairs. A well hidden secret.

Just off the night street, very tasty snacks at very affordable prices. Nice sheltered terrace out the back.

Home made lunches, soups and lite bites. So friendly and helpful. (The only thing I would like to say is that the ventilation should be improved - We all came out smelling of 'cooking').

A very nice breakfast this morning out in the courtyard along with our dog. Not too huge (you always think you can eat more) quality sausages, decent bacon and very nice bread from a very local bakers (we make our own so this was a bonus). Friendly service and decent coffee. Thank you.

I regularly take the children here for lunch, or meet a friend for a bite to eat. The food is hearty, very well made, and one will often get a Swedish twist to the dish as Mrs Howards' Kitchen is Swedish.... They do marvellous pies, quiches, cakes and salads. In addition their fish cakes are huge and very very tasty.... More

We have been spending weekends in Whitstable for years and regularly try all the breakfast places. Some have the best pot of tea, others have the best fruit juice etc etc But Howards is the best overall. It has great service and consistently good food. Also I love tinned tomatoes on toast which is nt on the menu but they... More

My mum and her friend recently took my 5-year old son to this café and all enjoyed a lovely lunch. Unfortunately, my son left his new red mac on the back of his chair and it was only noticed when he got home. As we live around an hour away, it is not easy to pop in to collect it.... More
