Great Experience

This place doesn't have a set menu for for £20 you get a delicious spread of food based on the best produce available on the day. Set in a chilly but atmospheric stable lit with candles, it does live music, but this I have never experienced! When you arrive you're given a wide variety of dishes to... read more

I had my 50th at the Salt Marsh and had the whole place for my party of 30 people. It was great. Food, as ever, was delicious and offered something for everyone, took away all that annoying ordering off the menu. It provided exactly the casual atmosphere I wanted. The service was fantastic, absolutely faultless and the staff couldn't have... More

Lovely ambience. The food is served in the pub weekdays which is just as nice. You pay a set price and if it's just a few people are offered choices if a large group dishes of food are brought out Tapas style, king garlic prawns, meatballs, chicken, sizzling steak, mushrooms, sea bass ect, In my experience there has been more... Last night my wife Sue and I went on a date night to The Salt Marsh. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the restaurant has a gorgeous rustic look, the staff made us feel very welcome and tended to our ever need. When our food arrived, not only did it look great, but we could not believe how delicious it... More

We've been coming here for years before it moved premises and it is still great. A favourite of my parents too. The food is all cooked fresh and bought that day. You pay about £20ish per head but they just keep bringing the food out! The menu is what is in that day so there's no written menu, just the... More

Wednesday and Thursday sees Salt Marsh meals being served in the Duke of Cumberland dining area which was pleasantly decorated and lit with candles on the tables. We were told it was £15 per person for a range of tasty sounding food but I was wary given reviews stating people left hungry. I needn't have worried. The food was incredible... More

We've been going to salt marsh long before it moved to the duke of cumberland and absolutely love it. Its got a great atmosphere, I defy anyone to be disappointed with the food, prices reasonable, staff brilliant. No menu, which has tested the resolve of some of my guests, all of whom including the foodies were surprised and delighted. And... More

We were invited here for Sunday lunch and just assumed it would be the usual stodgy ( but tasty) fare. We were delighted to be served the most amazing mediterranean menu , completely unexpected in a British seaside town. Everything was fresh and local - probably some of the best carrots I have ever eaten accompanied by delicious fish and... More

Ate here as part of a group of 17 for a leaving do which was accommodated for well with the table laid out ready for us, drinks orders were taken care of separately, food was served gradually as we all started to be seated and service/waitresses were pleasant and accommodating. I was slightly nervous about eating here as I have... More

Have eaten here a few times over the last few years and it has always been amazing.. However, when we went last week the change was shocking. Previous I always left stuffed, happy and would recommend to anyone that asked a good place to eat in whitstable. Now that will not be the case, I will be advising they stay... More
