Food fab service disappointing

We didn't book on a busy bank holiday but managed to get a table, to which we were very grateful. I ordered a rose wine and tonic, I was disappointed to get a glass of tonic with a splash of Rose and to be charged £6.45, normally this is served as a glass of wine with a bottle of tonic... read more

Samphire was gorgeous! I'm really glad that we booked a table when wandering past early in the day, because this place is busy! As a vegetarian, it's hard to find somewhere to eat that offers decent veggie options, but Samphire really delivered. There's a daily menu, with around 6 starters and 6 mains on offer each day, of which a... More

Eat dinner here every time we visit Whitstable and have never been disappointed. Often the food is the equal of any restaurant in the country providing you are not looking for linen tablecloths and silver service. A different feel during the day but equally good food and friendly and efficient service. Highly recommend a visit if in the vicinity.

To look at, it doesn't look good. A black drab exterior that isn't particularly inviting. But be brave and enter! An excellent little restaurant with a nice selection of dishes better, we thought, than those available elsewhere in Whitstable. The main we chose of hake with tandoori butter with rice sound a bit left field but It was superb. Add... More

Welcoming reception. Quirky menu. Delicious food. Try the home smoked salmon as a starter and the pork. (I know, in Whitstable I should have had fish as a main but I just did not feel like eating fish) Will go back.

Octopus followed by hake...just stunning, perfectly cooked and flavoured. English cheese board was great too! I am not a foodie foodie, however do appreciate good food. Warm welcome and comfortable atmosphere. Very happy tummy!

My partner and I love this restaurant - we eat here every time we visit Whitstable. The food is delicious every time and we would recommend the kir royales... Great local produce, fab breakfasts, beautiful tables. The staff are lovely - Esme in particular, who we think is wonderful. A fantastic restaurant.

Charming bistro at the end of Whitstable high street. We popped in for brunch and we were not disappointed! Delicious eggs benedict and kedgeree and lovely coffee. Also, try their fresh orange juice! Add in service with a smile and you can't go wrong.

Grabbed a roast of the day which was a perfectly roasted piece of lamb with vegetables done perfectly. Obviously top quality produce and for around £12, a bargain. Decent wine list and superb service. Gets busy and for a good reason.
