A lovely meal

The service at this restaurant is exceptional. The staff are very attentive. There are not many tables available so ensure you book your visit. The food is well prepared and tasty. The menu is on a wall and there is a good selection for meat eaters and fish lovers. There is not much selection... read more

Id heard about this place from friends and must admit I'd walked by a number of times without actually seeing it. Its a hidden gem in Whitstable. The menu is varied and all food freshly cooked. The prices are on the high side but well worth paying a little extra when the food is presented and tastes delicious. The staff... More

Having lunched at the Sportsman on Sunday, we wandered 100m down the road from our Fishermans Huts accommodation for Monday night. Service was exemplary - speed of kitchen output disappointed at 75minutes for main courses. Lamb dish was superb. Pigeon starter overlooked and bitter - but was removed from bill without being asked. Main disappointment was that for the cheese... More

We went to this restaurant during the bank holiday weekend and loved it. Really tasty, well cooked, freshly made food. Service was spot on too. I had the octopus starter which was probably the best octopus dish I have ever tasted. So tender. My partner had roasted chicken and it was also delicious. Would definitely recommend.

A great place with lunch with a friend. Small so you need to book, try and get a window table so you can watch the word and its partner go by.

The staff are first class and friendly, the menu is varied and interesting, well presented. The price is a bit too high for a meal. Better value for coffee.

Extremely friendly staff. A wide range of sea food and non sea food dishes. Perfect place for people watching if you bag the window table

Oh dear ... Came here for breakfast... Was really looking forward to it...How disappointing. I had eggs Benedict-ok, but shop bought hollandaise-not hot, warm & gloupy, daughter had same with smoked salmon. Rather average....Friend had the English breakfast-oh dear-so bad -as someone who works in this industry I was horrified it was even served... Cold bubble & squeak, cold toast,over... More

Had great meal here - was made to feel special by very attentive waitress. Food was great and had great window seat - ideal to "people watch". Very popular venue, so need to pre-book. So glad we did - will definately be back!

Relaxed atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff. We were glad we booked, even for lunch, as they were turning customers away. Definitely worth visiting for a light lunch bite or a lengthy dinner. Recommended.
