We went there as a group of 4 and we were not disappointed. We had great coffee and all of the breakfast items - eggs, bacon, sausage and black pudding - were excellent quality. The service was efficient and polite and the prices were reasonable. Well worth a visit and the evening menu looked great too.

Booked here for Sunday Lunch at the last minute, after being let down by another restaurant near by. Easy to locate, although fairly unassuming from the outside. Was there with a toddler & when we turned up both off their high chairs were already in use, but the staff were more than happy to pop to another restaurant nearby to... More

I had a full english breakfast. The quantity was just right, quality of ingredients was 1st class, service was good. Cost was a bit high at £7.95 but given quality was not exorbitant. My wife had was is listed on the menu as 'Eggs Forrestier', this consisted of toasted muffin, with wilted spinach, sliced mushrooms topped with 2 poached eggs... More

Found this small restaurant the weekend before last and went in for lunch with a friend on a visit to Whitstable. The service was friendly and efficient and the waiter was very helpful. The menu was varied and I chose Gypsy Eggs as I had never heard of it before. It was delicious as what the wine we chose. I... More

From the outside this restaurant is uninspiring, likewise when you move inside and see bare wooden tables with the diners names chalked on them. Rustic perhaps comes to mind. But don't be put off. The real surprise, and reward, comes on the plates of food that carry some of the most tasty dishes to come your way. Fresh fish, of... More

Although polite enough, service was pretty poor. I don't want to be waited on hand & foot, don't get me wrong, but I've never liked having to partially stand and 'flag down' staff in order to get their attention. Service was painfully slow, beer was heavily marked-up (£4.50 for a bottle of Whitstable Bay / Chapel Down Curious Porter) and... More

This was our second visit to samphire. The food was great, particularly the fish pie and amazing chocolate marquis with chocolate and chilli sorbet-yum! Not the most dynamic service or atmosphere but that was probably the time of day we visited.

Can't really fault the food, the atmosphere is not particularly vibrant but that could have been the early dining time! The food & drinks are quite pricey and this is off putting!

The standard of the food was fantastic and the prices quite reasonable. I only saw two people working in the kitchen which made the experience even better as I know how hard they worked to produce the great food. Will be back to try the As more cheese soufflé next!
