We miss their cooked breakfast options but still a lovely place to eat. Service can be a bit slow, so best not to plan you'd be out within an hour! But suits us fine as we like to natter.

The reviews were so good perhaps I expected too much ,however we went for lunch and I found it quite hard to find something I liked ,in fact, I ended up with the "all day breakfast" at £7.95.My wife had the smoked haddock which whilst ok was rather too salty for her liking. There seemed to be an obsession with... More

The numerous oysters on the harbourfront have only fuelled my appetite and we head back onto the High street for lunch, where thanks to some canny planning, I've reserved us a table at popular Kentish bistro Samphire, particularly good for vegetarian options. The restaurant is pure charm, from rustic chalk reservations, flowers in jam jars on the scrubbed pine tables... More

Our first trip to Whitstable and nothing really stood out so we cheekily asked the local estate agent where to eat, he suggested several places but we chose this restaurant mainly because it was busy. The kitchen is visible to its diners and the service was informal, friendly and effecient. The menu was interesting with not a chip in sight!... More

Went with a group whilst visiting the Oyster festival and expected more fish on the menu. I don't know if this was just my own incorrect expectations but had a mind set that prawns and lobsters would abound. They didn't. However, the lamb I had was sweet and succulent and came in a delicate sauce. Starters of pigeon breast went... More

Felt I could have chosen any dish off the varied lunch menu. All 6 of us were delighted with our choices. Service was helpful an dun rushed, making for a lovely leisurely meal.

Had heard great things about Samphire so we were keen to try, very busy so booking advised. Good menu locally sourced but not great choice for picky kids. Pleasant environment and staff.
