Two visits either side of the weekend with various parts of a returning family for lunch. On Friday we had fish & chips which were beautifully cooked, washed down with an unusual (and very tasty) lager from a local brewery. My wife started with a wine but switched, most unusual for her! Very freindly service and great value saw us... More

I have been here twice in the last two years because my Mother likes it here and my grandparents must have a roast on a Sunday. The décor is traditional with horse brasses hung on the walls and old oak furniture, the dark tables make the place feel smaller than it actually is. Service this time was ok, staff were... More

Lovely old traditional pub in a quiet idyllic Kent village popular with walkers. First impressions were good, excellent real ales to choose from in a very nice environment. 8 of us ate here for Sunday lunch and everything was just about ok with the food and the service. If I could I would score it a 3.5 to be more... More

We were looking forward to Sunday lunch at this pub but were quite dissapointed overall. Service was delivered in a rather disinterested fashion. Rather than been shown to our table (which we had reserved) the young guy behind the bar just gesticulated into the next room. Atmosphere was OK and in keeping with a more traditional countrypub - very nice... More

Taken by friends to this lovely English pub, greeted by a lovely, charismatic chap. Made us feel very welcome, even some locals chatted. Had some beautifully cooked food and wine. In all, a top evening in a lovely setting

Lovely location, superb ambience great beers. I would recommend dining here as we did today, a lovely beer garden, great service and food. The only let down was the meal didn't quite live up to its description. The smoked salmon, Tempura prawns and King prawns arrived but without the King prawns, instead we had a palate of minuscule prawns and... More

Went for Sunday lunch at this lovely little pub in dunk green. It has a nice traditional atmosphere with a good selection of drinks and tasty food. The only thing that let the rifleman down was the service - good to begin with when it was quiet but as it got busier it went slightly downhill. It wasn't bad per-se... More

Took mum for lunch because of the good reviews here. We were not disappointed! Lovely sunny afternoon, pretty little rural hamlet..cider with Rosie type countryside. Delicious well cooked food, lovely staff, and glorious beer for the other half. What more could you ask. We will be back.

Took the wife to The Rifleman for snack lunch today. We had smoked salmon with new potatoes and prawn salad. Absolutely perfect. We had a sweet and two tonics with ice & lemon - beautifully cold in generous glasses. All served by a young man who was very polite and attentive.
