Arrived for a quick drink on a bright sunny evening after a twenty minute drive only to find I had left my wallet at home. Landlord could not be more obliging and let me have a couple of rounds on credit (since settled!). An old-fashoined landlord and a delightful traditional pub. We will return soon for some food assuming I... More

Visited for Friday lunch and it was surprisingly busy given it is off the beaten track. Most people were eating as is so often the case. So I'd suggest booking if you want to be sure of a table. The food was fine, though the menu was quite limited - you'll find it on their website. Staff were friendly and... More

A lovely ambiance with a refreshingly different menu on offer giving interesting options to choose from. A most welcome contrast to mass produced food eateries.

You'd have to be pretty lost to find yourself here by accident. Tucked away as it is, it would make a superb place for any sort of meeting, clandestine or not, or just for some peace & quiet off the beaten track. I've been here a few times for a drink (not an illicit meeting) and have always found locals... More

I enjoyed an excellent meal with friends at The Kentish Rifleman today. Good choice of menu with vegetarian options. The beautifully presented meals were greeted by oohs and aahs from our party. We all agreed that the food was delicious. The staff were friendly in this lovely country pub. Well done to the new chef, we'll be back soon!

Tuesday is "Pie and Pint Special" for £10. Delectable in all respects. Jokingly sells itself with the strapline, "The finest pub in Dunk's Green". Actually, it is the ONLY pub in Dunk's Green but UNDOUBTEDLY one of the finest pubs in the whole of Kent. Possibly the universe. So its strapline rather undersells it. There's no pretentious gastro-pub nonsense. Just... More

They were good enough to fit us in although busy the time being around 1930. However hot food served on cold plates! No sorry.

....and all at a reasonable price. Yes it has been modernised and it is quite :"corporate" but if you want a traditional pub meal then it beats other local offerings by a mile

we often finish a walk with a couple of beers in the Kentish Riflemen. the 'Curious Brew' is strongly recommended as a recovery pint. we come here all year round (snug in the winter, and good beer gardens in summer) the staff are friendly, and the clientele is mainly locals. the food is still developing, the menu is encouraging, but...
