Lovely location, superb ambience great beers. I would recommend dining here as we did today, a lovely beer garden, great service and food. The only let down was the meal didn't quite live up to its description. The smoked salmon, Tempura prawns and King prawns arrived but without the King prawns, instead we had a palate of minuscule prawns and... More

Went for Sunday lunch at this lovely little pub in dunk green. It has a nice traditional atmosphere with a good selection of drinks and tasty food. The only thing that let the rifleman down was the service - good to begin with when it was quiet but as it got busier it went slightly downhill. It wasn't bad per-se... More

Took mum for lunch because of the good reviews here. We were not disappointed! Lovely sunny afternoon, pretty little rural hamlet..cider with Rosie type countryside. Delicious well cooked food, lovely staff, and glorious beer for the other half. What more could you ask. We will be back.

Took the wife to The Rifleman for snack lunch today. We had smoked salmon with new potatoes and prawn salad. Absolutely perfect. We had a sweet and two tonics with ice & lemon - beautifully cold in generous glasses. All served by a young man who was very polite and attentive.

We had a multiple birthday celebration - 14 adults, 2 youngsters - descended on the pub at it's busiest time of the week. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful! Every single member of staff was just lovely but a particular shout out for our waitress Jane, who was just brilliant, and the landlord John was friendly... More

T0ook my parents to the Rifleman for Sunday lunch when we couldn't get into any of our usual haunts. Excellent meal, service unrushed and drinks were good too.

Where better to be than the quintissential English country garden of a country pub on a hot Sunday afternoon in June? Lovely ales, lovely pub and lovely garden. Nearby is Old Soar Manor (English Heritage) for a view of a 12th century Manor house, stroll around the public footpaths through the area of outstanding natural beauty and finish with a... More

Was invited to a Sunday lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday. The pub in the country was very nice and had a good feel, very nice sitting outside watching the world go by! Good ales on tap which is always a bonus! The service by our young waitress was good and she was very polite. Now the food! We... More

Speciality pie night on a tuesday not to be missed. Home made, fresh ingredients and a pint for a tenner! Yes a tenner! It was awesome. Went back for a 3 course meal on a 'normal' evening. Food was excellent. perfectly cooked. Pub is a proper oldy worldy, very friendly people and welcoming. You gotta check this out, a hidden... More
