Saturday lunch

Two of us had a late lunch. All the food was excellent. In particular, there were BIG flavours in a starter of tempura squid with salsa, and a main of cod wrapped in Parma ham served with pesto sauce and on top of potato rosti with a salad that included olives and sun-dried tomatoes. I like the ambience of the Ivy House, the food is always good quality and not over priced. Anice venue for a meal with friends.

Yesterday i took advantage of their Fish and Chips promotion. Every Monday and Tuesday Dan and the team offer fish and chips for two INCLUDING a bottle of wine for only £20. I can honestly say for this price you'd be mad not to book a table. Great portions, freshly cooked and the best fish and chips i have ever... More

Been going to the Ivy House since the current owners took it over. Food is consistently good and good quality ingredients used. There is a ' core ' menu with a blackboard of specials available. Doesn't really cater for vegetarians, there is 1 dish on the main menu and two vegetarian starters. Hence I always have to have the same... More

Should be number 1 in the reviews. Love K.Valley but The Ivy House consistently delivers outstanding levels of food in a great atmosphere. No other gastro pub within 10 miles comes close. Just finished another super meal with the family.

At a loose end on New Years Eve we decided to have a meal at The Ivyhouse and what a good choice it was! I started with the Pig's cheeks which is quite possibly the best starter I have ever tasted. It would have easily passed for a main course with plenty of fresh salad a bowl of houmous with... More

We like to stroll into town for a relaxed lunch on New Years Day and The Ivyhouse is our favourite place to go. Relaxed but excellent service, varied and well cooked menu and an upmarket pub atmoshphere. My haggis starter was a great change and really tasty. I wouldn't have chosen a classic macaroni cheese in most places as there... More

Yet again this local pub has surpassed itself with the quality of food! We booked a table of 7 and had mains, starters and deserts! My starter of pulled pork n chorizo was fantastically presented and tasted amazing. For my main I had the lamb with roast pots, veg n mint jus........one word 'fabulous'. Pink lamb, loads of it and... More

Went for lunch recently and was most impressed. The food was beautifully presented and very well cooked. Had Ham, Egg & Chips with a roasted tomato for the main course and then the Winter Fruits Parfait with Blackberries in Drambuie, which was not only wonderful to look at but also to eat! I looked at other tables as their food... More

Had a great evening with my family to celebrate my birthday. Lots of choice for all three courses. Food beautifully cooked and presented. Service was friendly and efficient, we never felt rushed but neither were we kept waiting. The meal with drinks was very good value and we will certainly return. My only observation would be if you are not... More
