Nice country pub

Nice pub, with fab looking garden (sadly a bit chilly to enjoy the day we went) Great menu, all really enjoyed our food, although I picked a bad choice I think, fisherman basket? Bit over cooked and chewy. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, would return.

Have just return from a lovely lunch at The Little Brown Jug. The pub is brilliantly laid out, lots of tables but set out in little areas and not all on top of each other. Lots of choice on the menu no children's menu (which I really like) but will do any of the things on the menu in half... More

I went here one evening with friends and although every table was full the service wasn't bad, The food was good and decided to go tonight with my husband for our wedding anniversary. The service was slow, we had to ask for drinks and then had to chase them up, the service was poor and the restaurant wasn't full as... More

I have visited 4 times now. Mainly for breakfast on a friday. The food is tasty and good value for money. They also do smaller portions for kids, which is great. The staff are friendly and have always gone that bit extra which is a bonus. I will continue to be regular customer as I love this place.

Just the best meal had in ages I had large fish in beer batter and my daughter had Lamb she called it 50 shades of lamb it was that good. The staff are all very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Really recommend this place

This is a quintessential English Country Pub but, like the tardis, it is much bigger on the inside than you expect! We found a great atmosphere and a very homely, delightful interior. We visited on a Bank Holiday Sunday evening, and despite not having booked a table, the manager found a way of fitting in our party of six. The... More

Since this eatery is conveniently opposite Penshurst Stn, it makes an easy meeting place for those not wishing to drive. It also helps that it serves the most delicious fish & chips, some good beers and nice wines. All in all a very pleasant evening in the country.

We (family of 4 incl. 2 young kids) popped in for a country pub lunch. Attractive pub and initial reception was positive. However the food was disappointing. Bread basket was tiny..esp. for £3.95. Kids single sausage was burnt, the other kids lunch of pasta in tomato sauce came as a bowl of spaghetti with nothing on! We explained the sauce... More

Thank you for your comments, we really value all feedback. At the time of your visit, the manager on duty did apologise for the issue with the spaghetti and take £3 off your bill, which you agreed to. We apologise if this detracted from the enjoyment of your visit, but we do strive to rectify all issues on the day,... More
