This is a very large restaurant/pub, with dark oak polished tables surrounded by mismatched old-style chairs, charmingly chic. The food is well cooked and presented, and very generous portions. I think my partner was asked to eat Moby Dick (or at least a close cousin) as the fish and chips was ENORMOUS. My chicken Caesar salad was lovely and had... More

Slow service staff very apologetic food over priced had to wait far to long for sweet we cancelled the sweet paid the bill told by a manager they were having problems with the kitchen. I think if this is a very poor excuse for second rate service

The pub was recommended for their food by many. When we got there the pub was empty and the setting was lovely. We went in to order and were given a table number. The food came in twos so most had finished by the time other had started. All the sides were forgotten with the mix roast and the steak.... More

Two of us ate here on a Monday evening. The barman wasn't at all friendly and told me quite bluntly that I could only order a bottle of Chardonnay as they don't do that particular wine by the glass. Maybe he was having an off evening. The waitress service was attentive but obviously just students who are just filling in.... More

Title of my review is not derogatory-just that I remember it as a good old fashioned pub many years ago. Has now become a gastro type pub-not a bad thing. Met a friend for lunch, food is good, staff are friendly, but prices just for a lunchtime snack are a bit high. This did not seem to worry the many... More

Superb meal, one of the best i've had, every component was individually excellent and mouthwatering as a whole. Service could not be faulted.

We booked a table on Saturday night, it was a warm balmy evening, the garden was busy, we were in the restaurant. the service was pretty poor, lots of young staff, all preferring to be in the garden and not rely looking after us. the food was very average, £63 for two, with no alcohol. very expensive for what we... Lovely main courses although they did forget to bring the vegetables. Desserts not good at all but very nice friendly staff.

Went for a lunchtime visit. Lovely pub in pleasant surroundings. Friendly staff, good food. Good seating inside & plently outside for the nice weather. Good for families to visit
