Quick lunch and drink in sun

We took lunch here quickly on a Saturday. Quickly seated and served. Great menu choices. Nice wine and beer selection. Food came out promptly and was hot and very nice. We had the spicy chilli (which is spicy!) and the fish cakes. I always have the peas and bacon too. Very nice. The garden is large... read more

Eat here a couple of Sundays ago, had a table of 4booked for 12.30. Chose starters and mains within 10mins, starters took 40mins to get to our table and mains took over an hour after that, the roasts we had were awful, the meat and potatoes were dry and over cooked and the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, I understand that... The last time I ate here was in 1999. Since it has been taken over by Whiting and Hammond and the food is as good as ever.mfriendly and obliging staff add to the experience. Food was delicious and a wide menu of high quality pub grub and specials. Highly recommended

We went on mass for a Sunday lunch and was bowled over by the quality of the food and the consistently great service in a stunning warm and friendly pub.

We visited for a Sunday lunch and despite being there by 12.30 found that car park full, although there is an overspill just up the road. Sat down and were served by a polite and helpful young man. The restaurant itself is huge, it just keeps going back. Varied menu with both roasts and pub grub included, and our party... More

Today we had an amazing trip to the little brown jug, as a group of 31, they catered exceptionally well for us all, we pre ordered our food a few days in advance to ensure all went smoothly and it did exactly that, with a table of young excited children, food was brought out in good time, and was to... Easter Sunday - not enough serving staff. Constantly having to chase up drinks - 3/4 of an hour between starter and main course and given that not everyone in our party had starters (which isn't unusual with a party of 11) r really isn't good enough. Last time we went to lbj service was bad but we decided to give... More

We love this pub, it's takes us 35min to drive here but it's always worth it. My mids love the outdoor area and always like meeting the locals dogs in the bar. Very warm atmosphere and food is really good. See you again in the near future LBJ.
