We visited the Crispin Inn on a day trip to Sandwich in August, after noticing their "Dog's welcome" sign. How glad we are to have seen that sign, else we might never have found this little gem! We were all made to feel very welcome, especially the dog! We sat in the main bar area and found the staff to... More

The wife & I were out on the motorbike hunting for a place for dinner. We stopped in Sandwich and window shopped the restaurants near the river/bridge and decided on the "crispin inn" due to the variety and reasonable prices. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was of a very high standard. The only downside being... More

Firstly this is a well appointed pub/restaurant. The decor is great and impressive. Comfortable seating and a fine selection of real ales are an added value. Beer was well kept and consistent with inclusion in the 2015 Good Beer Guide. That was the good news. On arrival, we asked if we could eat and were advised that there was a... More

Visited the Crispin Inn for dinner. I live in Christchurch Dorset and of that age that I have tasted a wide variety of food around the world. I must say their Curry Goat was exceptional. It was the best curry goat I have had since visiting the Caribbean many years ago. The service was professional, attentive, staff were clearly happy... More

HI Barry We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit so much. We really do try hard to give good service and food, and its very rewarding to get a review like this. You are something of a legend yourself now at the Crispin. We often remind ourselves of Barry the fella that ate two curried goats. Which is no... More

Went there for a quick couple of drinks. Nice friendly bar staff, prompt service, clean and comfortable. They even make a nice cup of tea... for a pub!

The Crispin Inn was recommended to us by a local in Sandwich and we were not disappointed. The menu was varied and the food was great - it makes a nice change to visit a pub that isn't trying too hard to be a gastro pub or bistro. We were there during a lunch time rush and although the staff... More

The goat curry, full of bones and fat, is OK, but nothing special - the corn dumpling, while no doubt authentic, adds nothing to the dish, apart from unnecessary extra calories. The pie and steak were not bad, but no better than average. The service, however, was quite appalling; long waits at the bar and for ordering and delivering food.... More

We are very sorry you did not have a good visit, For anyone reading this review i would like to put it in perspective. I know that this was based on a visit on Saturday 23rd august. One of the busiest Saturdays of the year, that date being the August bank holiday weekend. So not a true reflection of a... More

Stopped off here in desperation as it was a Bank Holiday weekend, we are running late, and most of the other pubs in town were no longer serving. We were seriously lucky! This place does amazing Caribbean food and great local ales. It's also very good value for money (main courses for 9 Quid) and has a really chilled out... More

Built in 1491 and the old ferry man's house it has loads of character. The ales on tap included Timothy Taylor and Doombar which are 2 of my favourites and the bar snacks had home made monster sausage rolls and scotch eggs for £3. Will definitely be using again
