Went there for a quick couple of drinks. Nice friendly bar staff, prompt service, clean and comfortable. They even make a nice cup of tea... for a pub!

WE have had lunch and dinner here and the food is excellent, some is ethnic and delicious. One of our group had goat and it was scrumptious, we'll try it again.

The Crispin Inn was recommended to us by a local in Sandwich and we were not disappointed. The menu was varied and the food was great - it makes a nice change to visit a pub that isn't trying too hard to be a gastro pub or bistro. We were there during a lunch time rush and although the staff... More

The goat curry, full of bones and fat, is OK, but nothing special - the corn dumpling, while no doubt authentic, adds nothing to the dish, apart from unnecessary extra calories. The pie and steak were not bad, but no better than average. The service, however, was quite appalling; long waits at the bar and for ordering and delivering food.... More

We are very sorry you did not have a good visit, For anyone reading this review i would like to put it in perspective. I know that this was based on a visit on Saturday 23rd august. One of the busiest Saturdays of the year, that date being the August bank holiday weekend. So not a true reflection of a... More

Stopped off here in desperation as it was a Bank Holiday weekend, we are running late, and most of the other pubs in town were no longer serving. We were seriously lucky! This place does amazing Caribbean food and great local ales. It's also very good value for money (main courses for 9 Quid) and has a really chilled out... More

Built in 1491 and the old ferry man's house it has loads of character. The ales on tap included Timothy Taylor and Doombar which are 2 of my favourites and the bar snacks had home made monster sausage rolls and scotch eggs for £3. Will definitely be using again

I visited Sandwich last year & walked past the snug area of the pub a couple of times & thought it would be nice to have a drink there, roll on a year later & that's exactly what I did. On our last night, we just went for a quick drink, service was efficient & polite but the little area... More

Looking for somewhere to eat in Sandwich I came across this historic inn, pleasantly located near the Quay. Very friendly staff who straight away brought me over the menus (the ordinary menu plus the Caribbean specials) and service was quick and efficient. I was impressed that they offer this Caribbean option rather than just the standard lunchtime offerings, such as... More

Hi David Thank you for your review of The Crispin Inn Im pleased you enjoyed your meal, and the variety and choice of the menu. As for the dumpling that accompanies the curried goat, it should not have been stodgy, i can only put this down to it not cooked long enough which i can only apologise for. as it... More

We stopped in Sandwich for a cup of tea/coffee. Popped in to this pub. Ordered cream tea for 2. The service was awful, the cream was not clotted cream, but the whipped cream from a tin. Didn't feel welcome at all. Felt ripped off.
