As nearly all contributors have mentioned this is an excellent restaurant. We had a tremendous dinner on what was a very busy night to celebrate a birthday. The party included teenagers who were well looked after and who enjoyed the joy of fine dining. The pheasant was cooked to a treat, surprisingly light. As a local it is great to... More

The Ambrette always performs beautifully, in presentation, their food and service so I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever in that respect. Every time we have dined at The Ambrette it is more like an experience than just a standard meal out which I believe should apply to any meal you have out at a restaurant. The Ambrette has very cleverly... More

Our friends have been to this restaurant many times and always raved about it...having made the trip down to stay in Broadstairs it was our turn to join them for a lunch in Margate. What a marvellous experience - the food was unanimously delicious and nothing like any other Asian restaurant we had ever been to. The components of each... More

A thoroughly pleasant meal at this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. The food can best be described as Indian fusion. We had two courses but there were a number of little amuse-bouche snacks in between the courses. Service was generally very good - the drinks waiter forgot our beers, but when we reminded him the response was immediate. We... More

This unassuming-looking Indian restaurant in the old part of regenerating Margate, 5 mins from the Turner gallery, offers beautifully presented and brilliantly zingy dishes with ingredients ranging from crab and lamb to sea purslane and lentils. I am not a veggie, but if you are, the range of options is wider than most. And the value is astonishing, £15.95 for... More

Was pleasantly surprised at the high level of service, and the exceptional food that we received. The comments card offered at the end of the dining experience (this is more than a meal!), asks if anything can be improved or added, and had to answer, nothing. An additional bonus were the discounted prices with the Senior Privilege Card.

I am not a great fan of spicy food, so tend not to go into Indian restaurants. I now wonder what I have been missing. We had the lunch time tasting menu which needs to be ordered in advance. This consists of 5 savoury dishes and one sweet. All of the dishes were amazing, bursts of different flavours served attractively.... More

Superbly tasty -- so much so that you'll be tempted to forget your manners and make-sure that you enjoy every last morsel. My husband and I loved this place so much the first time we went that we went back two days later (purely scientific interest of course - to make sure that the quality of food wasn't a fluke).... Totally different to your average Indian. This is a gastronomic delight well presented. Unique. We have been here a few times and have always had an exceptional meal. Our friends said that it was the best meal that they had ever had.
