Cool quirky little place

The best place to have breakfast! Beautifully cooked breakfast, piping hot tea served in tea pots - loved by us all!

Having always struggled to find anywhere open in Margate for breakfast/brunch on a bank holiday Monday, this place is an absolute godsend! We'd spotted it the previous day while walking from our hotel in Cliftonville to Margate, but didn't expect it to be open when we walked past again the following day. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there last August... More

Have been meaning to go to Fort's Cafe, for ages, drive past it every day on my way to work, so this weekend gave it a go. Fort's Cafe is a small cafe, not many tables but I found that to be a bonus. The lad that served us was quick to take our order and the food and drinks... More

Came here on a very wet and windy Tuesday and had a very good lunch - nice coffee, good quality burgers and beautiful chips. Can see why this place is popular.

Popped in for a posh greasy spoon with my son. The service was welcoming, straight forward and unassuming. No hard sell and just natural. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. It's a very simple menu but cooked with love. Don't be put off by any negative comments. These guys are genuine, lovely people.

Terrible service at what could be a nice cafe. The staff were rude and poorly trained and the service was utterly disorganised. We waited for a table and sat down only to be told that the table had been 'reserved' by someone who had arrived after us. We were then told it would be over an hours wait for a... More

Dear Mr Jones, I'm sorry for the service you received at our cafe yesterday, we're not in the habit of offending customers. Your experience was an unfortunate one for us and I would like to explain for the benefit of anyone who is interested. You arrived as a party of six when there were no tables available and sat outside... More

Forts is still a fave place to eat and socialise, it has a fab feel and of course the food is delish, a varied menu, always fresh, tasty and never disappoints. Yesterday friend (also a loyal fan of Forts) and I booked the window table with sea view... unfortunately we were late, we both called to tell them and on... More

This part of Cliftonville is gradually sprouting interesting shops and businesses. I have driven past Fort's on numerous occasions and finally managed to visit yesterday. We were greeted by a delightfully chirpy waitress, who made us feel instantly welcome. My companion described the experience as "the best brunch out I've ever had." He selected the full English, which came with... More

Make sure you visit this place for breakfast! We shunned our Premier Inn breakfast to come here, and it was well worth it! The service was brilliant, and the food amazing. Will definitely return of in Margate again!

Met up with some old friends here before a day at Dreamland. Went based on reviews. The front of the cafe isn't great but don't be fooled. This is a trendy and friendly run cafe that serves fantastic food at a really reasonable price. Mugs of tea in old teapots served on Formica topped tables reminded me fondly of my... More
