Great service, great food and I would steer all to Forts. Simple and interesting inside, it really is a little gem. Shame the weather wasn't as cheerful.

This is such a quirky, welcoming, friendly family run business serving fresh fab food in a town that is fast becoming popular but this off the beaten track is a real gem. A must visit if in Margate, just up the hill from the Turner Contemporary.

I think the best way to recommend Fort's is to say that I actually ate both breakfast and lunch there today! I went for breakfast with a neighbour, and lunch with friends who spontaneously decided to visit Margate. Fort's had both covered - with friendly service and delicious food. I love the Beetroot slaw, and the mackerel with bubble &... More

This place is a real Margate stalwart - loved by locals and tourists alike - the fab food is really worth the short seafront walk up the hill into Cliftonvile. The staff are friendly and the food is hearty and delicious. The place has a great vibe and special events and special menus are something to look forward to.

I went here while on a day trip with friends over the summer and was really impressed. A lovely independent cafe/restaurant with really welcoming staff and great food. A welcome antidote to the bland places like Pret I have to put up with in London.

Been a few times and the food is consistently great and excellent value. Particularly love the local veg on the menu, rosemary chips chips and ridiculously delicious maltshakes

Positioned ever-so-slightly off the beaten track (a mere short stroll from the Turner gallery), Fort's is arguably what Trip Advisor is all about - a great place that you might not otherwise stumble across. Despite it being late-morning it was hard to resist their burger, having seen a reference to it online being 'the best in North Kent'. I'm not... More

Best veggie breakfast ever in the whole world, If I had the time, I'd seriously travel a thousand miles every Saturday for this: Homemade Glamorgan sausage, bubble and squeak, grilled cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, Heinz baked beans, fried egg and toast. They even swop out the toms for extra 'shrooms. Word Stew, word.
