Kim-chi with your bubble and squeak? No problem!

Brilliant little on-trend caff with super-friendly service and fab inventive cooking plus sensational home-made ice-cream. Don't be put off by the less than salubrious surroundings and do try the kim-chi with your Smoked mackerel and bubble & squeak!

Enjoyed a good, well cooked and flavourful breakfast at Forts this morning. Nice staff, pleasant surroundings and cool mix of clientele - will definitely be going back. If they only opened a bit earlier I'd be a regular on my way to work!

We discovered this gem through the Shell Grotto website and were really please that we went. Amazing fresh bread topped with fluffy scrambled eggs. Very nice and thoughtful staff and one of the few places that give you a small dish for the tea bags. Should we go back to Margate we will definitively go back.

Went for a late breakfast, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Order the eggs Benedict to be told that they had no ham but offered back instead and it was amazing!!! Left with a full belly and an empty plate. And for what I ordered it was worth the money. Would definitely go back again

We visited on a rainy Monday morning and were greeted by friendly staff and quirky interior. Excellent music playing also. The food was fantastic. I had the vegetarian full English breakfast and it was amazing. The sour dough bread was gorgeous. Delicious. Nice to have a unique experience in a non chain restaurant. The location is slightly out of Margate,... More

Slightly off the beaten track this cafe in a quiet part of town this alternative cafe was packed with locals - so make sure you get there when it opens at 10am to avoid a wait on weekends! The service was friendly and the breakfast of excellent quality. We had the eggs royal (eggs perfectly cooked), and the smoked mackerel... More

After arriving in Margate a little hungry we decided to go to Fort's Cafe and we didn't regret it! After taking the seat outside to enjoy the lovely weather we were greater with a simple breakfast and light lunch menu. Two of us went for the chorizo sandwich and the other eggs Benedict! The food came in good time and... More

My friends and I booked Forts on a Saturday morning after doing some research on quirky breakfast eateries in Margate. After a warning that such a large booking of 18 might mean sitting at different tables and slower service than normal, Forts still exceeded our expectations. The food was cooked to perfection, with locally sourced produce. A lot of us... More
