Tasty food, great view, good service

Visiting one Sunday lunchtime, we decided to eat before exploring the exhibition space. We chose a sausage stew and beef stew for each of us. The food was well presented with a garnish and freshly baked bread. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I would describe it as gastropub type fare... read more

Gorgeous view of the harbour and beach; Sunday lunch vegetarian option was a chick pea and vegetable casserole with locally grown salad and granary bed; a generous portion well presented, and all reasonably priced given it probably has the best view in Margate.

We own a B&B in Broadstairs and never go into Margate for dinner, but this place was recommended to us so we thought, why not get on the bus in the afternoon, take in the Gallery have a wander round the old town and then go to the Turner Contemporary for our evening meal. WOW!!!!! What a great surprise, the... More

We popped into the Turner gallery after a morning working with artists to get a quick lunch. We ordered soup with a home made savoury scone and a slice of local cheese. It sounded lovely with local produce..... Then we waited.... and waited.... and waited. After 25 minutes we went up to the counter and asked where it was. The... More

I apologise for your recent experience at our café. Unfortunately during your visit, there was a fault with the kitchen printer, which stopped working. This resulted in the order not getting to the kitchen in a timely manner. This however does not excuse the cold soup, your cheese portion, nor the level of service you received. I can assure you... After an extraordinary visit to the Turner Gallery we stayed for a wonderful evening meal. A short menu of carefully selected dishes, we had baked cod and sirloin steak - excellent fare Thoroughly recommended

Lovely setting with great views over the bay, and very tasty food. My chickpea and veg stew was a bit short on the chickpeas, but it tasted wonderful. We went back later for tea after we had visited the exhibition. Always reliable. Friendly service too.

Their coffee and cakes are always fresh and very moorish, just the thing before a gallery visit. Lunch choices are good and varied although, my view, rather expensive for a seaside town! Home made soups always tasty and obviously freshly prepared, the accompanying cheese scone terrific. I was less enthusiastic about the sea bass, small portion and, for me, over... More

Today we visited the Turner Contemporary Gallery and afterwards we found our way to the cafe. The staff were extremely slow serving the coffee, but we're polite. Some of the food looked nice but some was pricy. The milk jug was stained and the floor didn't look very clean. The view across the beach was nice but we didn't particularly... More

Visited The gallery a few times, but never the cafe until this week. It's always Fairly packed hence walked away in the past. The menu very good, food nicely presented and tasty. As for price well, not to bad, but remember it supports the Turner Gallery, so I consider it to be reasonable. Staff very pleasant, on the ball, tables... More
