Lovely gluten free cake!

A sea view, a gorgeous gluten free cake, hot strong tea, charming service and an opportunity to think about what you have just seen in the gallery. What more could you ask......?

We went there this afternoon (16th April) after a long drive to get there. When we arrived in the coffee shop, we ordered 2 Afternoon Teas, not too bad and reasonably priced. However what was not nearly so good was the general state of cleanliness on the work surfaces behind the counter as well as the rather grubby looking wash... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback, it is necessary to ensure we can improve. I must apologise for the lack of cleanliness you witnessed during your visit. When we are busy it is hard to keep things as clean as they should be, but whenever there is a slight break in the queue we will always ensure that the... More

A lovely refreshing menu using local produce and a lovely selection of cakes - stews, soups and cheese ploughmans or scones and clotted cream are all there! We went on a busy Mothering Sunday, so the staff were stretched, but they were charming and smiling - the lamb stew was rich, the ham hock like you'd cooked it at home,... More

This is the ideal place to meet friends for lunch. There is a wide menu which is very reasonably priced. It offers slightly different choices than most cafes. We had pea soup which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the Kentish ?Blue cheese. Soup was served with a herb scone which was the. Lightest and tastiest I have ever had.... More

Visiting one Sunday lunchtime, we decided to eat before exploring the exhibition space. We chose a sausage stew and beef stew for each of us. The food was well presented with a garnish and freshly baked bread. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I would describe it as gastropub type fare, albeit the portion sizes are not especially generous.... More

Gorgeous view of the harbour and beach; Sunday lunch vegetarian option was a chick pea and vegetable casserole with locally grown salad and granary bed; a generous portion well presented, and all reasonably priced given it probably has the best view in Margate.

We own a B&B in Broadstairs and never go into Margate for dinner, but this place was recommended to us so we thought, why not get on the bus in the afternoon, take in the Gallery have a wander round the old town and then go to the Turner Contemporary for our evening meal. WOW!!!!! What a great surprise, the... More

We popped into the Turner gallery after a morning working with artists to get a quick lunch. We ordered soup with a home made savoury scone and a slice of local cheese. It sounded lovely with local produce..... Then we waited.... and waited.... and waited. After 25 minutes we went up to the counter and asked where it was. The... More

I apologise for your recent experience at our café. Unfortunately during your visit, there was a fault with the kitchen printer, which stopped working. This resulted in the order not getting to the kitchen in a timely manner. This however does not excuse the cold soup, your cheese portion, nor the level of service you received. I can assure you... After an extraordinary visit to the Turner Gallery we stayed for a wonderful evening meal. A short menu of carefully selected dishes, we had baked cod and sirloin steak - excellent fare Thoroughly recommended

Lovely setting with great views over the bay, and very tasty food. My chickpea and veg stew was a bit short on the chickpeas, but it tasted wonderful. We went back later for tea after we had visited the exhibition. Always reliable. Friendly service too.
