Lovely tasty food, quick service and great price. Sadly no children's menu but great portions in quaint surroundings.

We visited for dinner and had a very nice meal. The black prawns in garlic are the best we have tasted. The view over the sea is beautiful particularly if you request a window table. We had also booked to attend the Music Hall show in the Ball Room of this hotel, it was a great way to spend an... More

We had booked Sunday lunch with friends. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. We stayed quite a while and weren't in any hurry for us to go. Afterwards we had a good look around the museum. We were transported back to a different era. Lovely.

Four of us had dinner here on a Monday night. We did book but wasn't necessary. The warm welcome we received on arrival continued through our visit. The food was amazing. I had mussels as a starter which was bigger than most places I've ordered as a main course. The chef has a good palate as everything was well seasoned.... More

We go to this hotel regularly. It is gloriously comfortable and the food amazing. Hot food is always hot and cold food delicious and fresh. Today for the first time we had breakfast (we live locally) it truly was the best breakfast I have ever had. My husband remarked that "they cook food with great care here" and that is... More

Another year has passed for our Anniversary Celebration at the Walpole for lunch. Again the food was excellent and the staff attentive, it was very busy, 90 people were celebrating either birthdays, fathers day, or in our case an anniversary. So again we say thank you to Jane and her staff for a lovely day.

The Walpole Bay is a quirky sort of place and interesting to visit. However, I feel the service is not up to standard. I have eaten there two or three times and always found the food tasty and well-cooked. On my most recent visit with four family members, we all chose the fish pie for lunch. We were told quite... We went in for a coffee and had problems getting the receptionist to understand us as she did not speak good English. But we were directed to the lounge which was overstuffed and cosy and could have done with a good clean The place was busy and friendly. The restaurant is not the small romantic place that I would choose... More

We loved the ambience of this restaurant. The menu had a selection of dishes that would please most tastes. We enjoyed our plaice and gammon, nice fresh vegetables and my dessert of lemon and ginger cheesecake was very yummy!
