The Britannia is a friendly contemporary pub located only a few hundred yards from the seafront promenade. It is situated in a hamlet outside the picturesque town of Hythe, with its interesting shops and architecture, Royal Military Canal and Romney Hythe & Dymchurch steam railway. The pub has a traditional feel, with a focus on great beers and excellent traditional homemade food. Outside is a pretty courtyard garden with seating for summer as well as a large car park.

Great for Food, Drink and Service

A great pub and great service - Nigel is terrific, best landlord you'll ever meet. Friendly and funny. Quick tip - try the steak night (kind of monthly) - great portions, well cooked and great price.

A very congenial host, nothing is too much trouble. We turned up one Sunday lunchtime and had not booked but a meal was provided for us with no fuss at all. Food is always good an excellent pub to enjoy lunch or dinner.

We visit this pub regularly, the service from Nigel and all the team is welcoming and friendly. The steak night is excellent with plenty of food. Can't fault the pub or the service.

Called in here for a light lunch during a journey. It was a good place to choose. Don't like the new red paint, though.

Went here as a party of 8 for a Sunday lunch based on TripAdvisor reviews. Very friendly service, good food and beer. Very welcoming landlord. Would recommend as a genuine local pub with decent food.

Visited this pub as we were staying the night at the Holiday Inn Express Folkestone, it was a good 20 minute walk but we needed it as we had been in the car for several hours. The pub landlord was welcoming and a good host, the menu had plenty of variety of good pub grub at a reasonable price. The... More

I booked at table for an evening meal as we were staying at the holiday inn express (euro tunnel) and it was my husbands birthday. Nigel (the landlord) was most welcoming and arranged a birthday cake for us and Sarah (chef) made us some great home cooked food. We had a great evening and a super start to our holiday.... More

went to eat here on the reviews posted on Trip Advisor. The landlord was a very welcoming chap and it is a family run Inn. The food was if very good quality and the home made pie was delicious. Very reasonable prices and the service was very good, would definitely visit again.
