The setting, service and surroundings were excellent. However we had the lunch menu which although it sounded appetizing was way below average. Very disappointed with the food.

Went for dinner, had the tasting menu. Dining rooms are lovely and service very good. Food was nice, most notable bits being the soul pre-starter, the beef with polenta and the cheese. Fish courses were tasty but a bit under seasoned, the sauces in particular. Wines were good, measures so generous we asked him to pour less! Very good bread.... More

We dined here as it was my mum in laws 95th birthday lunch. 5 of us enjoyed a superb meal with excellent but unobtrusive service. The food was delicious especially the cherry soufflé!! The best I could say is that we would definitely return at the earliest opportunity even tho we live 250 miles away!!! A great place for a... More

A very friendly and courteous greeting set the tone for the evening. Excellent service, wonderful food and a lovely ambiance; a great setting for our wedding anniversary dinner.

Visited Reads again on Saturday and am running out of superlatives, wonderful location and setting greeted by welcoming staff on arrival then having pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the lounge whilst making our choices. The meal was superb from the sea trout fishcake starter though lamb 4 ways to the immalculate cheeseboard.Service as always was first class and the whole experience... This weekend along with 26 other guests my wife and I were married at Reads. We had superb service from the moment we arrived on Saturday until the next day when we left. The food from the tasting menu was superb along with the matched wines. All the staff were meticulous in their service led by the every watchful and... More

We enjoyed a meal at this restaurant last week. The building itself is nice and comfortable, and i would imagine it is a nice place to stay. The food was OK, the ingredients seemed to be of good quality but I have to agree that the cooking is not outstanding and not in the exceptional category. That said it is... More

Hilarious to read the pompous opinion of last reviewer who clearly thinks Kentish bumpkins have clearly never been exposed to their London food experiences. Many local people have spent years and careers on expenses lunches and world dining opportunities in London before moving here, me included. I eat here because it never ever fails to satisfy our demanding palates. I... More

We travelled a fair way to eat here having been impressed with other local restaurants but we left distinctly unimpressed. This place has one star and scores 6 in the Good Food Guide so expectations were high. On the plus service is polished, and formal (if you like that kind of thing). The price was very low for a three... More
