The food is of a fair quality and the waiters are very friendly. The price reflects the sort of place it is and therefore on a value for money score it does very well.
This is one of the best Indian Restaurants and take away that we have found. We moved from London and from our wonderful local takeaway and thought it would be difficult to find a replacement. Thank goodness for Bengal Spice their food is on a par with our favourite and some of the dishes are better. Fresh ingredients brilliantly cooked.
Following a recent visit to a nearby restaurant that served tasteless food, I found this one to be quite the opposite. All of the food is extremely tasty using fresh ingredients and a perfect blend of spices. Starters and main courses were delicious, didn't have a sweet as I couldn't eat anymore. Great value for money and will definitely return... More
Having not been out for a while,we were really looking forward to a nice Indian meal. Sadly we were disappointed, it started with a long hair in the lime pickle, when the relish dish was taken away, we complained, with very little response. We decided to percivere, after about an hour our starters arrived, whilst we still finishing them, the... More
Went to this restaurant last night. Nicely decorated indian restaurant. I think the staff could act a little more friendly and cheer up a bit, but service was quick and efficient. The food was absolutely first rate, one of the best indian meals I have ever tasted. Four of us had starters and main courses plus a few chilled to... More
My first visit here after a disgusting meal at milaad. The food was perfect authentic full of flavour and perfect sized portions. The staff were very friendly. A proper indian restaurant with good decor lighting and music. A loyalty card ia availible and is free giving you discount, another nice touch. Bangla beer is also availible. All in all a... More
I've ordered from The Bengal Spice once before, the food was excellent, and arrived in a timely manner. However, this time, it couldn't have been much further from 'timely'. Upon placing a fairly simple order of two main courses (& two rice sides), I was told it would arrive withing 40minutes. A time I was willing to wait, for a... More
Pouring with rain so we didn't want to go far and this is where we ended up - service a bit hap hazard but pleasant enough but the wait for the food was beyond a joke!! When it did arrive over an hour later it was quite nice but I'm not sure if that was because the food was nice... More
Waited for an hour for a couple of simple dishes. Tasted like crap. Poorly presented, un-matching crockery and serving cutlery. The kurma came in what I describe as a shallow bowl that you'd eat spaghetti out of. And the rice was on a plastic plate! What happened to decent serving dishes?!? The serving spoons were all different shapes and sizes.... More
