Seafood lunch

Wanted somewhere special for seafood lunch. Have been several times before in evening but not for lunch. A quiet midweek so only a few here. Had oysters which were sparklingly fresh. Then fresh skate wing and fish n chips . Well cooked and generous portions . All washed down with New Zealand White... read more

Really love this place, the food, the ambience and the owners. Only glitch for me is the bill never adds up correctly and always in favour of the bar. Although it is always rectified with an apology, for me, it has spoilt the experience of going there. If they could get this right, I would go there very often.

Our visit to this restaurant last year was the fifth time we have been there for a special occasion. The food is remarkably good, as is the ambience and the attention by the owners and staff to ensure you enjoy your experience. In our opniion, this is one place NOT to be missed.

I have always been aware of how the local loyal restaurants in Deal have strived to provide the local community and its visitors the best fresh food as possible. Especially with it being a sea side town. So my partner and I tried The courtyard oyster bar and restaurant , it did not disappoint! We were greeted very happily and... More

I visited this restaurant with my partner and mother (in law). As potential regulars I visited this establishment full of hope and enthusiasm. This quickly turned into disgust and disappointment even before we opened the menu! We managed to get a table before the restaurant opened its doors to the hoards who had pre-booked a table. The lady who had... More

I do hope that the owner of the restaurant reads these reviews. My husband and myself have lived in Deal for the past 8 years and have been to this restaurant many times. The food and staff have always been good. It has to be really as we have some excellent places to eat in Deal. Not sure what happened... More

We were welcomed warmly on arrival. Service was very friendly [relaxed] and speedy. There was a good selection of starters even for vegetarians, and they were HUGE! A very good selection of mains followed so that it was quite difficult to choose. All 4 of us were delighted with our choice, and again the portions were extremely generous. We did not... More

After living in Deal for nearly a year I cannot understand how we have managed to avoid visiting here, but we will certainly be back. We visited on Tuesday, which is quiet for Deal restaurants, if they open at all! The Court Yard has a cheese and wine do every Tuesday where wines can be tasted at (well) discounted rates,... More

We were taken by friends to this smashing place. We ate in the 'conservatory '. I suppose there were around 50 people there. The owner chef puts on theme nights and we were treated to some fine hot and cold food, home made pate, pickled eggs, chutneys and cheeses, some free wine tasting thrown in, fancy home made quiches, no... Good starters of scotch egg, goats cheese and oysters. V tasty. Fish and chips ... Delicate fis, ok batter but chips done with skins on which most thought not so good. One of our party had a v small bit of fish as opposed to the other two portions which was a shame. Mussels v good but lots of great... More
