A local's favorite restaurant, highly recommended!

A friend brought us here for a foursome dinner. A fine wining and dining experience in this medieval restaurant/pub that oozes in charm. Try and get a table in the old and somber part (versus in the more recent veranda in the back) with the wooden beams and slanted floors for a full taste of what... read more

Excellent food. Proper Real Ale (straight from the barrels behind the bar) and attentive service. Three superb courses. An excellent choice of local meats and fish.

The food was fantastic- bream, Cajun chicken salad, steak, and lamb were all great. However, the table was really cramped - you couldn't get your legs under it, and we're not large people. Also, the bill took ages to come, and we ended up paying at the bar - when we could find someone. Nice food, but staff were all... More

I have been eating here for over 7 years. We've done romantic evening meals for 2 and 10+ family lunches. It's just one of those places I will always enjoy scoffing at. The definition of "idilic country pub" and the meat and fish dishes on offer are immensely satisfying. No wonder it seems to have been Kent dining pub of... More

While visiting the area a local resident mentioned this place to me. So I called in one lunch time ... A hot sunny day, where I wanted a light lunch and a cold drink. I found a warm welcome, a lovely menu, including tasty lite bites(but the main meals look great). Lovely place, why aren't all pubs like this? Typifies... More

A charming pub curiously named as it only has two chimneys! Low beams, nooks and crannies and appropriate artwork everywhere as well as a large conservatory which explains the name. Limited but excellent beer range and the largest menu I have ever seen ... Size wise that is about 8ftx4ft! Food was wonderful best ploughman's lunch I've had in ages... More

Menu a la blackboard. Nice selection. Brand new refitted kitchen and the food I think has improved since I last visited. Service attentive and prices fair. Choice of sitting outside, in the pub or the observatory. Not to miss if you are in the area.

Went with friends for dinner, haven't been here for a long time and The Chimney's reputation ebbs and flows. Pleased to say that it was as good as its ever been. The food was lovely great ingredients cooked really well and couldn't fault it at all Asparagus and egg to start - Delicious albeit a bit stingey on the Asparagus,... More

Beautiful old pub which has retained all its old architectural features. Food is served in the pub itself, in the attached conservatory or out on the terrace. The menu is quite creative and the quality of food is a cut above the usual gastropub fare. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is a large car park. It gets... More

Fantastic food pub, friendly service, good choice of local beers & ciders. Extensive menu, something for everyone and not too expensive. Lovely outside eating area and cosy inside. Visited lots of times and always consistently good.
