While on the Island we decided to book in advance, sight unseen at this restaurant. We were not disappointed. A superb place to eat. The lava rock concept is not new but it is an excellent way to be certain that your meat or fish or seafood is exactly as you like it. The fillet was excellent and the scallops... More

Came here on a Sunday night after having completed a cycling sportive on the island with some friends. Greeted by a sign that recommended booking in advance (no surprise as I can see why it's so popular), but we chanced our luck, popped our heads inside, and asked if they had a table for us. A really friendly girl told... More

My wife Hayley is also posting a review separately. Hayley noticed an advertisement for on the rocks and wanted to go. I booked for 19:15 and we turned up early but this was no problem. We ordered a chateaubriand steak to share, we were told it had the flavour of rump but the cut of fillet. It was £42 and... More

My husband and I (who is also writing a separate review to this) decided to book a table at this restaurant last night whilst holidaying in the isle of wight. Well what can I say, the food was absolutely brilliant. The girls who served us couldnt do enough and they were very efficient and polite. I would recommend the chateaubriand... More

Although the meat was delicious, this was (for me) a completely unbalanced meal, in a room fogged up by the smoke of the hot coals. There was no room on the tiny table for the salad, chips, water and bottle of wine plus glasses. There is no doubt that the meat here is plentiful and certainly very nice, but as... More

This is a really sociable way to spend an evening over dinner. The cooking on hot rocks is fun and you get unlimited salad and fries. Drinks are reasonably priced, so it all makes for a geat evening.

Went here with my partner and brother and his new girlfriend and it was the best place we could have picked. Excellent food, brilliant service and really enjoyed the 'Cook it yourself' theme. The size of the cuts of meat were huge and great value. I can highly recommend the tuna steak as that's what I had but thumbs up... More

The food is plentiful - the members of our party had a combination of tuna, prawns and steak to cook on the hot stones. Some lovely sauces were served, particularly the bearnaise with the steaks. The fries are plentiful and the wine reasonably priced. The service was both efficient and very friendly.

I have now been here twice... both special occasions. I had the most tender rump steak. The novelty of cooking it yourself on the volcanic rocks is just unique and fun. You also get a big bowl of good fries, and a lovely Greek salad, fresh local bread and balsamic vinegar/oil dip. Staff very helpful. Also great range of fish... More
