Late meal for two

We turned up at The Boathouse after being unable to eat at another establishment and despite it being after 9 they didn't hesitate in seating us and making us feel welcomed. The service was quick and attentive. The food was good too. I have a Surf and Turf for my main and this was truly... read more

Had heard good reviews so went with young boys. Waited a while for staff to take order, decided to sit outside as kids found dining area very cramped and there are beautiful views outside. Food took a while to arrive. Crab salad was mediocre with the crab meat tasting pretty awful. The kids pasta wasn't great either. Service was average,... More

Visited here three times on recent holiday, once for drinks and twice for meals. The local produce night was particularly good. Will be back when we next visit IOW.

Having walked past this restaurant many times, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We were very impressed with the range of food on offer, and also at the good prices. I ordered a Sirloin Steak cooked medium rare. What arrived was a perfectly cooked steak that was so tender, that there was no need for a... More

This is typical pub grub, but very reasonable and all the dishes for our group of 6 were good, arrived on time, hot and everyone said how good it was. Despite being Saturday night it was fairly quiet come 10ish, so probably better to go a bit earlier for atmosphere.

sunny garden, views over the Solent, and obster fresh off the boat...... what could be better than that, well add in a crisp dry white wine and very little could surpass it. The staff were fun and friendly and the food beautiffuly presented. Fabulous!

Regular visitors to the island we often return and eat at the Boathouse. The service and staff as always was excellent. Chose the 8 oz Sirloin steak which at £16.95 was not cheap, disappointingly over cooked for medium rare, my wife's choice of risotto was excellent and good value. Decided to share a pudding and chose one of our favourites... More

Just had a great meal with excellent wine at the boat house - small misunderstanding over wine - corrected quickly and apologetically apart - one of best meals I have had this year - the sabayon was devine!

The Boathouse has a great mix of friendly staff, fantastic views from the terrace and good food. The specials menu always has something interesting, and there is usually a good use of local fresh ingredients. Even in the summer months, when the place can get very full, the standards are maintained. Sunday roasts are always good, although have a tendency... More
