We have eaten at the Boathouse on several occasions but fame may be getting the better of them. The chicken satay was poor, although the duck was good. The main courses were nothing special. However the 'charge' of £1.00 for a jug of tap water was totally unacceptable. This was not mentioned until we spotted it on the bill and... More

We had been on holiday on the Isle of Wight for a week and on the last day came across the Boathouse.. We went for our evening meal with our children. The staff were very friendly, lovely seafront location. The food was spot on! We had moules marinieré and ham egg and chips. Best meal we had while away. Would... More

More expensive than Brewers Fayre for breakfast, no ketchup, got orders wrong all the time, cutlery was filthy, substantial lack of staff. Save your money.

I'm not one for complaining, it takes a fair bit to get me to do so....unfortunately this is my only bad review ever! Things that went wrong: It took 45 mins to get our drinks delivered to the table-yes wow! (In fact the food arrived before my beer did!) My wife's lobster Thermidor had a funny smell to it, she... We ate here with friends on our mini-break to the IOW whilst staying in Seaview. Fantastic evening, clearly very busy was a Sunday though...Food was gorgeous, my husband and our friends had steak (high praise by all) and I had the mussels which were delicious. The staff were amazing with our 4 year old daughter who by the end of... More

Stayed with my partner for the first weekend of Cowes week. Ate in the restaurant for breakfast two days and evening meal on the Saturday. Beautiful weather allowed us to eat breakfast overlooking the Solent on the patio area at the front of the Hotel - great breakfast - a good and tasty full English with many other options inc... Whilst the ambience was lovely and the setting superb, the food was a disaster. My husband had Crabbie Cakes and they were swimming in grease and practically inedible. I had a sea food platter and the crab was swimming in water and to be honest we could have been served "Brake Brothers" food it certainly looked liked it had come... More

Seaview is a lovely coastal location and you cannot fail to enjoy a visit. The Bosthouse is down one end of the village on the front road. It has a nice traditional pub atmosphere - but it has been stripped out to accommodate diners.....so in reality it is largely a restaurant in a pub shell Beers are good, service is... More
