We decided to go to the Boathouse for lunch on a wet July day. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. I ordered the pint of prawns which very yummy and it came with a fresh salad and very garlicky mayo. My husband ordered the fish and chips, which was a pretty large portion, but he thoroughly enjoyed it.... More

service was excellent. food is ok I suppose but not very imaginative and a bit pricey, but then it is the nearest restaurant to seaview so you're going to pay premium price.

We visited here while on holiday, we eat out a lot and usually the reviews I write are good. Unfortunately we found this place to be overpriced, rude staff, pretentious yet couldn't even get the basics right! The only good thing to say was the gentleman who seated us was lovely and very nice. The decor of the restaurant is... More

Four of us called in without booking for lunch on a monday and were fortunate enough to get a table. Turns out it's a popular place. We all had seafood of one form or another. Fish and chips, hake, and fish pie all come highly recommended. Very well presented pub with great staff. The toilets were lovely too (always a... More

After a long walk along the coastline of the Isle of Wight, we came here for a seafood dinner. We had previously seen a number of positive reviews of this place, and gave it a try. There is plenty of space outside, so even on this busy sunny Saturday evening there were a few seats outside. There is no formal... More

For my husbands birthday we booked the Boathouse for a meal with his family, a table of 8. We're a rowdy bunch who talk too much and drink too much! The staff were patient and attentive. My husband and I both ordered duck pate to start, which was delicious. Only complaint not enough! I also tried the mushroom risotto which... More

Good food, nice location, clean and tidy, friendly and helpful staff, very interesting menu, limited vegetarian options, reasonably priced, we would visit again.

The was our first time at the Boathouse. We called in without a reservation for an evening meal, we were greeted by friendly staff and we were allocated a table in a quiet part of the pub which suited us. The menu was supplemented by a daily specials board, it also had a small plate menu that made our granddaughter... More

We've been to the Boathouse on many occasions with it being a short walk along the beach from Ryde. The food is always great and the staff friendly. The Specials Board always offers something different from fresh fish dishes to homemade pies - the pies are a great choice and are highly recommended. On our last visit we happened to... More
