Called in here to feed last Sunday in the middle of a pub crawl. I had the mixed grill and my wife the Fish & Chips. Getting served was quick and friendly as always in a spoons pub. The food arrived quickly also. The mixed grill was quite good for the money but the fish was like rubber and the... More

My husband then asked about a lift and it was explained that only the pram could go. - ok fine... but then we had to ask where... More

We visited the S, Fowler & Co Weatherspoon’s public house /restaurant in Ryde whilst on a short break to the Isle of Wight with our granddaughter. Our second visit to a pub in this chain in a week (and about 290 miles apart), we combined it with a train journey from Shanklin to entertain our granddaughter. The pub is easy... More

Not very friendly staff. The worst eggs I've ever seen! Very hot plates so obviously even sat for ages. Would not go back. Would not recommend

Went here with a friend and our three children. Found table in family area easy enough. Only one childs menu available so they chose their food but had to share the colouring activities. Ordered food and drinks at bar, quick service and the older barman was fun helpful and friendly, even carried our drinks upstairs for us. Food arrived quickly... More

I visited the S. Fowler with my wife when visiting Ryde. I usually ignore what other reviewers say about an establishment because all places get their bad days. Workers who wish they where somewhere else, managers who don't manage and of course, customers whose expectations are too great. However I do agree with much of what has been said because... More

Visited early eveninG with my young son to sample their Sunday roast. First issue was attempting to get served. There was only one person behind the bar when we arrived and he seemed to be only serving customers at the opposite end of the bar to where I was waiting (some customers he served arrived after us). When challenged, he... More
