Not what it used to be

One venue we remember visiting as part of our visit to island a few years back. Was a smart, well run establishment back then. Now food was slow and poor, but our main issue was the type of customer now in there, more builders and scaffolders than business persons and couples. Still a nice looking... read more

We have visited this place many many times over 16 years of living on the Isle of Wight but have never been so disappointed as we were on Bank Holiday Monday. It was dirty, run down in every area. Will never visit again. No wonder it was empty!

A group of 9 of went in for lunch on bank holiday Monday. It was fairly basic food, not awful but not great either. The worst thing was the cleanliness of everything. Sticky tables and generally grubby, but the worst thing was when the chef came into the bar. Very grubby looking and the greyest filthiest chefs whites I have... More

Fairly quiet day and few people inside - walked in around 19:00, sat down on one of the many free tables (in clear sight of the bar staff). Menu was on the table, I read it, held it in my hand for a while, put it down, waited, made a phone call, and left .. and it all only took... More

Walked in a the young lady behind the bar lead us to a table. Gave us our menues and not long after took our order. The food was good timing and was imaculate. My steak was perfect and my children loved their meals. I would definatly reccommend this place to anyone after good customer service.

Service, there isnt any so cant comment. Food, dried out stale buns on shop brought burgers with grated cheese stuck on top or veggie option of bread toppedcwith tomato puree, onion and mozzarella. No one bothered to ask us about the meal or apologise for the 45 min wait for poor food. Really wouldn't bother and wont be going back.... More

Shocking place - never even got to eat or drink here. As most reviews say this place has shocking staff issues. Barman completely ignored us when we looked for a table - no sign of any waiting or front of house staff. We walked out and went to Blazes. Much much better. Forget Joe's - looks like it won't be... We were hoping to use a priceiswight discount voucher I'd already purchased few days before, booked table and advised voucher was to be used - the menu online was very appealing, lots of choice and stated family friendly, on arrival that menu was now no longer available and a burger and pint for £10 had replaced it - place was empty...
