Description: A French Restaurant offering Fresh Seafood in Cowes Brawns is a small...
A French Restaurant offering Fresh Seafood in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate French Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

A fantastic meal...

We booked at the last minute during a short break in Cowes. Brawns is a charming, intimate restaurant on the High Street. Short menu, with around 5 choices per course, which is good as it allows the chef to concentrate on a few excellent dishes and makes choosing much easier. I had one of the specials as a starter: crab... More

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. Three course meal with a glass of wine for £18.00. The portions were just right and very tasty. The staff were polite and the restaurant is comfortable. I would certainly recommend and would love to return.

My girlfriend and I had a superb lunch - choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 puddings on an £18 fixed price menu including a glass of wine. Excellent all round and most of the dishes were gluten free.

We visited during a two night stay in Cowes and had a delicious three course meal. The mackerel starter was lovely as was the cauliflower soup. The Guineafowl main was one of the best mains I've had. The service was nice and personal and the wine recommendation was excellent. We really enjoyed it.

We booked as a group of 8 to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday. From the outset all our needs were catered for, and we were made very welcome and comfortable. Our waiter was efficient, polite and professional and was attentive but discreet. The ambience, decor and layout is particularly charming, being a grade 2 listed former shop, complete with victorian... More

Had a lovely meal at Brawn's. Started with some warm fresh bread while we mulled over the menu ... calamari was beautiful, melt in the mouth and a light crispy batter, went for the duck for main and that did not disappoint and topped it off with an excellent creme brulee, with fresh raspberries and crumbled shortbread. Atmosphere is great,... More

Brawn's is a lovely place to eat. The atmosphere provided by staff was welcoming and friendly, the food was outstanding. We booked a table for 4 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals (2 calamari, 1 mackerel and 1 calves liver to start and 2 Aubrey burgers, 1 butternut squash risotto and 1 perch for mains) We had a... We went because of trip advisor reviews and had a nice meal but not quite as special as we expected. They used paper napkins which seemed a bit mean given we were paying over a hundred pounds for three meals without pudding. The open fire was nice when we arrived but was allowed to go out whilst we were still... More
