Description: A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate European...
A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate European Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

At last

After living in Cowes for 15 years I can honestly say this is the best place to eat. The food is delicious, service friendly, and well worth a visit. We go regularly and can never find fault. A real treasure for those who enjoy good food.

Wonderful meal, beautiful food and great choice, had the fish of the day which was perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth. So much choice even had to try the dessert menu which I shared with my daughter which we both loved. Its a lovely intimate restaurant with a great atmosphere, would definately recommend if you are in Cowes.

Too many great places to eat in Cowes to bother going back here. Very disappointing on all fronts. Food, service, value were all poor.

A great improvement on when this offered tapas. This is a good quality restaurant and I can throughly recommend the cauliflower soup which is divine. We had a really very pleasant evening with good quality food in great surroundings. Only feedback for the establishment is to train the staff a bit more, our waitress admitted that she "didn't know how... More

Lovely unusual decor (ex butchers shop with many fittings intact), very clean and cosy. Excellent food, including wonderful rosemary and garlic bread which was not mentioned but came free of charge. We had fixed price 2 course lunch (£16) and food could not be faulted. Mouth watering dessert - salted caramel and cinnamon roll - gorgeous! Staff very helpful.

This restaurant was previously a butchers and, I was told when admiring the decor, the tiles are listed! The two small dining rooms are decorated in a shabby chic style, with stripped floor boards and copper light fittings. It must be one of the best smelling restaurants I have ever eaten in, with a subtle Ralph Lauren-type scent in the... More

We turned up two of us at 7.30 on a Thursday evening in May, sadly there were not many customers, this was such a shame as the food and wine were really excellent. As others have said their is a limited menue, that is an advantage as we were able to ask for a change, ie I do not like... More

Well we booked after looking at the reviews and we're looking forward to a great selection of seafood as advertised. Only one choice as a starter and one as a main. Hardly a seafood restaurant and given that there is an excellent fishmonger across the road somewhat lazy too! The service was appalling with each course taking at least 45... More

Browns served what you expected but it lacked the buzz of some other places in Cowes. The food was good but some dishes not available Not so comfortable bench seat A listed old butcher's shop complete with wall tiles and ceiling hooks to hang the meat.

We booked a table at Brawn's based on Trip Advisor reviews. Once again, well done Trip Advisor. Brawn's is small; no more than 20 sittings. It has a limited menu (always a plus in my book) and a specials board. Service is very, very good without being overbearing. We both had seafood. Very fresh and skilfully prepared. Reasonably extensive wine... More
