Ranked #1 of 48 Restaurants in Cowes
Price range: $24 - $41
Cuisines: European, French, Hamburgers, Seafood
Dining options: Dinner, Reservations, Late Night
Description: A French Restaurant offering Fresh Seafood in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate French Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

This was our first visit to Brawn's and we were not disappointed. It was in fact, one of the best meals we have eaten in a very long time. I had the goats cheese starter followed by the risotto. Both were excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. My husband had the crab starter followed by a sirloin steak. Again, they... More

We took a crew of 18 in during the little Britain Cup. This was the best meal in eight years in Cowes by far. The crew loved the food all of it, the good wine and great service. The chef was asked to come out and given a standing ovation. Can't recommend it enough, keep up the great work.

We had a fantastic time, the food was delicious and the burger and chocolate fondant were a particular highlight. The service was friendly and made for a relaxed atmosphere. It is a little pricey but would highly recommend.

We dined at Brawn's over the weekend with friends and family. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. My crab with avocado mousse starter was light and tasty, steak for main was tender and tasty (cooked medium to the UK standard, not French) and the fries were excellent. We were all very happy with the meal and drinks, I would... More

I had dinner at brawns for the first time last night and it was faultless. The duck breast was absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend had the rack of lamb from the specials board which looked and tasted amazing. We shared a cheeseboard for dessert. It was very good to get a selection of more than three cheeses. All in all it... More

Best steak I've had in a long time the chips were amazing too, great atmosphere and friendly service, all in all a perfect dinner out with chums, and I'm a big creme brûlée fan and this one was better than the one I had in France at the weekend ...

We had a fabulous dinner at Brawn's whilst on a weekend in the Isle of Wight. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with great decoration and the service was relaxed and friendly. The menu is small but perfectly chosen to highlight the best seasonal and local produce, (I'm a foodie!) I would highly recommend the pollock, the basil croquet was... More

We had dinner at Brawn's on Friday and the food was excellent. The menu is quite small but in our book that is a good sign. We had the calamari which was very tasty and I had a medium rare burger which was cooked very well and my husband the steak which he said was delicious. Good atmosphere, would recommend... More

Hubster and I ate here as one of our regular date nights. I loved the decor, the place was very busy but the two waitresses did a great job and the food was very prompt. I ordered burger in a brioche bun, hand cut chips etc. Food has never commanded my attention but that burger did. It actually stopped me... More
