A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate European Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

Nowhere in Cowes compares!

There are not many fine dining restaurants in Cowes, or indeed, the Isle of Wight itself, but Brawn's is truly a delightful experience. The restaurant itself is simply furnished with friendly, helpful staff and the food it mouth watering. The young Chef was quite shy in accepting his compliments... read more

As this was the "Round the Island" weekend we struggled to find anywhere to eat. We settled on Brawns as they had a table for six o'clock, a little early but better than the other options of nine o'clock and later. We had a friendly welcome and were most impressed that the waitress had remembered the gluten free requirement of... More

We have walked past this place numerous times, but last evening finally bit the bullet and stopped. We had a lovely meal, excellent food, well presented, and not overly expensive. Unusually we both selected the same starter and main, pigeon, followed by lamb. Truly scrumptious. I wish I could have found room for pud, but sadly, no! Will definitely be... More

Having spent the day walking various parts of the Island this restaurant was an absolutely perfect end to the day before catching the ferry back to Southampton. The service was outstandingly polite, courteous and friendly. The food was stunning - when is the chef appearing on Masterchef Professionals? It is such a pleasure to find such high quality food in... More

Don't waste your time. Good food only if you can get it! Always a gamble when you arrive there as to whether or not its open! The only meal I have managed was excellent since then have been there on 6 occasions , all closed even though should have been open. GIVE UP!!

Ambience good, welcome good, service good, food excellent, wine reasonably priced for better restaurants. 3 of us and we sampled each others. (excluding me on anything with fish!). For starters - Cauliflower soup, very nice, Pigeon - nice but not quite as good as the Langoustines which were top notch. One had the Sea Bream which apparently was fab whilst... More

A very flavoursome cauliflower soup to start followed by some of the best Sirloin steak and double fried hand cut chips that I have had, coupled with a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir. The desert of salty caramel roll was also delicious. The greeting and service by the two waitresses was perfect. In my opinion as a local, one of... More
