Description: A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate European...
A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate European Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

What a lovely evening!

This was our restaurant of choice in Cowes, having read the reviews and we were very glad we chose it! It was formerly a Butchers, hence the name and the tiled walls inside. We sat at a table in the front part of the restaurant which I liked as we could watch the world go by whilst enjoying the... read more

We booked a table months ago having been told this was a really good place to eat. We certainly weren't disappointed. We had starters and main meals; lacking the room for a desert! The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly.

The restaurant has quite a homely feel to it, with a semi-rustic designs keeping with the age of the property. Again booked on the back of other good reviews, we visited Brawn's as well as Lockslane at Bembridge as part of our culinary short tour of the island. I had the sirloin steak and it was a really nice piece... More

We had a wonderful meal at Brawns in June during a short stay on the Isle of Wight. We'd passed the restaurant on the high street and were impressed by the menu so booked a table...we were not disappointed. We had local fish to start, mains were asparagus risotto, Aubrey Allen burger and sirloin steak - all cooked to perfection... More

There are not many fine dining restaurants in Cowes, or indeed, the Isle of Wight itself, but Brawn's is truly a delightful experience. The restaurant itself is simply furnished with friendly, helpful staff and the food it mouth watering. The young Chef was quite shy in accepting his compliments when we asked to see him, but he should feel proud... More

As this was the "Round the Island" weekend we struggled to find anywhere to eat. We settled on Brawns as they had a table for six o'clock, a little early but better than the other options of nine o'clock and later. We had a friendly welcome and were most impressed that the waitress had remembered the gluten free requirement of... More
