Description: A French Restaurant offering Fresh Seafood in Cowes Brawns is a small...
A French Restaurant offering Fresh Seafood in Cowes Brawns is a small, intimate French Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago. Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge. His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu. The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

Great dining, friendly and relaxed.

Had a lovely meal at Brawn's. Started with some warm fresh bread while we mulled over the menu ... calamari was beautiful, melt in the mouth and a light crispy batter, went for the duck for main and that did not disappoint and topped it off with an excellent creme brulee, with fresh raspberries and crumbled shortbread. Atmosphere is great,... More

Brawn's is a lovely place to eat. The atmosphere provided by staff was welcoming and friendly, the food was outstanding. We booked a table for 4 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals (2 calamari, 1 mackerel and 1 calves liver to start and 2 Aubrey burgers, 1 butternut squash risotto and 1 perch for mains) We had a... We went because of trip advisor reviews and had a nice meal but not quite as special as we expected. They used paper napkins which seemed a bit mean given we were paying over a hundred pounds for three meals without pudding. The open fire was nice when we arrived but was allowed to go out whilst we were still... More

Beautiful setting, nice menu. Amazing cauliflower soup to start with (although not sure about the charred cauliflower croutons but the soup was to die for) and my girlfriend's goats' cheese salad was reportedly delicious. I followed the soup with a burger having had a steak for lunch and was thoroughly disappointed, under seasoned and bland, not even the cheese had... More

This is a restaurant we haven't eaten in before and what a delightful surprise awaited us. The young chef worked with Heston Blumenthal at Bray, and it shows! He is passionate about serving perfectly cooked food which is beautifully presented. Front of house was extremely welcoming and attentive and we couldn't fault the occasion at all. Cowes is lucky to... More

Excellent meal - everything fresh and full of flavour, starting with the seriously tasty warm bread selection, the perfectly cooked beef, the chocolate fondant, toffee apple crumble, fine cheese plate, quite the best creme brûlée ive tasted. . This is a really good addition to the (very) small list of fine eating establishments in Cowes. Not cheap, but you get... More

New Years eve and we reserved a table for 7.45. We were welcomed straight away and shown to our table. Our starters were delicious and the two of us ordered the sea bass. It was so well cooked and extremely enjoyable. To accompany our meal we had a very good Sauvignon which was perfect.

We booked at Brawns having seen other positive reviews and were absolutely delighted with our choice. The food was excellent, the service polite and friendly and overall this is a lovely place, well worth patronising. It was quiet on the evening we visited BUT do NOT let that put you off. Every eatery on the Island has to build up... More
