I visited Number 3 with friends at the end of Cowes Week, they were very busy (as you'd expect) but we had a lovely night. We weren't rushed - we had the table for the night, and found the atmosphere to be buzzing and lively. The food was super - we shared amongst us various starters including venison with beetroot,... As Barbara's comments below, except she forgot to mention the wine! The Rose was acceptable although slightly expensive for what it was, however, the White was totally unacceptable at £50+ bottle.

Having read some of the other reviews, only one can be about the restaurant we went to on Thursday of Cowes week, our 3rd choice as both Mojac's and Murrays were full - should have been enough of a warning that No. 3 had space! Had seen it several times before and thought the menu looked interesting. We are not... More

Many times we have walked past and tried for a table but always disappointed as they are always full, but we booked ahead this time and now know why they are so busy. Food was top notch, service was top notch. prices were what you would expect from a quality restaurant. Menu was small but offered good choice. definitely the... More

Slightly strange experience, felt a bit uncomfortable at times - the chef was very friendly but the lady who owned the restaurant seemed to be a bit on edge & big problem with condensation which made us feel quite claustrobic. Would have to really think twice before going back. Shame as the food was very good.

Although our first impressions were poor, with the front of house lady being pleasant but not that friendly we ended up having a lovely evening. It was a shame that the waitress couldn't accommodate my husbands request for peas or beans rather than mixed green vegetables. However the venison starter was superb aa was the crab mousse and the monkfish... More

The food was delicious. Wine in my opinion was over priced. Service good portions for me a little small.

The food at Number 3 was amazing ... they catered for a private party for 26 this weekend and all the food arrived at once, it was expertly presented and tasted amazing. Can't wait to go back.

On arrival I was welcomed by friendly staff. Beautiful freshly cooked food. I loved the surprise dish of nuts on the table, bread basket and jelly beans at the end of the meal! .

I wonder where all these people eat in the real world with all these rave reviews I am reading as I was not impressed at all by this mediocre restaurant who ran out of steak and only had fish and venison on the menu ! My husband does not eat fish and had to eat it because basically nothing else... More
