Good Place to eat

First time visit (after 25+ years living on the I.O.W) for wifes birthday, with eldest son and his wife. The menu doesn't really do the food justice. The quality was very good and the quantity was impressive. A revisit is certainly on the cards.

I like to try different places when I visit iow but won't be returning here, shabby interior, no atmosphere, bored staff and below average food

Came here for my 10th wedding anniversary with the hubby. The food was wonderful with loads of choice. All cooked from scratch & you could really taste it. The staff were absolutely lovely & helpful & I would recommend this to anyone as a great place to go. A teeny bit on the more expensive side, but to get such... More

The red Duster has a warm and cosy ambience; it has a small ship-like feel to it - which fits in well with Cowes sailing scene. The food was great although , as it was freshly cooked, took a while to arrive

We really felt as if we'd had a proper meal out, where the food was seasonal, fresh and cooked to order. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself atmospheric: years and years of fine dining, drinking and good times seemed to ooze from the rafters. Due to travel, we were all having a completely "dry night" and the attentive... More

A random stroll through the streets of East Cowes found us looking at the menu in the window of The Red Duster. A lovely young man made us very welcome and took us upstairs and, over the course of the evening, together with an equally lovely young lass and the Chef's hilarious wife, we were made to feel at home.... Words can really not describe our experience fully, but by far the best we have ever experienced, The food was at 5* standard, with great choice, even an excellent selection of vegetarian meals, it's homely and the owner made us feel so welcome, we have nothing but praise, I could go on and on telling you about the red duster,... I dined with my wife and friend at the red duster on 11th. When we arrived the resturant was empty. There was one member of staff working and he was, friendly, polite and knowledgeable on any questions we asked about the menu. The food was great we opted to skip starters and go for mains and desserts. The food came... More

The building and decor were nice although the pews were uncomfortable and we were glad we were just two as we would have had to climb over each other to go to loo etc. nice it was cloth napkins. We thought the Service was warm, friendly, welcoming but ended up feeling it was overbearing and overfamiliar- we dislike entering conversation... More
