visit with the W I

It was a christmas "do" with the Medham W I . The food was excellent but it was a little bit crowded and cramped, and no disabled Loo.

We have used Murrays several times as it is local to us, and we enjoy eating fish. We visited again last Friday, and this was our best experience so far. We pre ordered a sharing platter for two when we booked. Because one of our party of four was unable to make it, we asked if we could have a... More

I was disappointed. We all had the three course meal. The prawn platter came with about 12 prawns which needed shelling - a messy and time consuming affair, especially when the 4" wet wipes were inadequate. My cod came with a soggy skin and a few bones. In fact all the fish had soggy skins - a pity since I... More

We both really enjoyed our three courses. Well presented, correct size portions and very tasty. Will certainly go again.

Not the best we have had on the Isle of Wight, meal was reasonble but small portioned and expensive, starter and pud looked very like Bookers trade cash and carry ready prepared. Biggest complaint is the place is grubby, needs a coat of paint , built in seating is very poor and uncomfortable, and the gents needs a deep clean,... More

Whilst not a fish fan myself, I went to please others in the family who definitely are and they were suitably impressed!! Very reasonably priced (particularly the set menu) and a great selection of fish dishes (as you would expect of a seafood restaurant!!). despite there only being 1 person front of house, the service was quick and efficient and... My partner and I love seafood so Murrays was an obvious choice when we were away for my birthday weekend. But how disappointing. The food was less than average and I sent most of mine back. The atmosphere was non-existent and it was all decidedly amateur hour.

My husband and decided to go here for a belated Valentine's dinner and we were really looking forward to it. To be perfectly honest, the good was alright but not excellent, the service was ok but not enthusiastic and the atmosphere was zero (plus no heating so was freezing!) I'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend this restaurant although I... More

Upon arrival we were shown to our seats and given a basket of bread while we looked at the menu, starters ordered, garlic mushrooms and smoked salmon, both were very good indeed. Main courses we had steak with home cut chips and salmon in a caper and lemon sauce, both were excellently cooked. A + to the kitchen staff and... More
