Amazing main course

Had all three courses and have to say was a little disappointed with the starter which was some kind of prawn medley which wasn't very tasty BUT the main course "cod in a lobster sauce" was amazing, served with new potatoes and seasonal veg it will always be remembered. An old Cowes stalwart but sad to say better days are far behind. Tired and unimaginative, old fashioned presentation and really nothing special on the produce side either and that isn't great when you take into account it's not a cheap place to go. I'm sure it's better when it's busy but that's not that often it seems. Great if... More

I have eaten in Murrays for over 12 years now, visiting the Island as a professional Yachtsman. In all that time i have enjoyed pretty much every dish off the menu (which changes from season to season). The welcome is great from friendly staff, warm and attentive service throughout in a lovely quaint setting. The food is of excellent quality,... More

This was one of only two places that I could find fresh local Lobster, there was a choice of 3 half sizes and 3 full sizes all at different prices to suite. I had the middle sized half lobster with garlic at just £14.50, which I felt was a good price as it was only the second time I had... More

We chose Murrays as we both like seafood. We were slightly disappointed with the menu choices as we felt that there could have been more of a selection of fish but fortunately Dover Sole was on the specials menu which we both chose and it was very good.

Best thing to say about Murrays is they can really cook. Our food tasted out of this world I highly recommend you try it. Our hotel manager suggested we try it, we'd overlooked it previously - oh we regretted that when we got there on our last night on the island. It'll be first in the list next time.

This is an excellent and classic fish restaurant - amazing smells as you walk through the door. A yachts and favourite - group tables in the back room for crews to feast together. Great atmosphere for couples and families alike; both cosy, friendly. We dined off the set menu, and we were not disappointed by the fish soup (wonder how... More

We have used Murrays several times as it is local to us, and we enjoy eating fish. We visited again last Friday, and this was our best experience so far. We pre ordered a sharing platter for two when we booked. Because one of our party of four was unable to make it, we asked if we could have a... More

I was disappointed. We all had the three course meal. The prawn platter came with about 12 prawns which needed shelling - a messy and time consuming affair, especially when the 4" wet wipes were inadequate. My cod came with a soggy skin and a few bones. In fact all the fish had soggy skins - a pity since I... More

We both really enjoyed our three courses. Well presented, correct size portions and very tasty. Will certainly go again.
