This was the nearest restaurant to where we were staying and had come highly recommended by locals. But to be honest it was a little disappointing. Dingy tiny room (3 tables, there were 2 other rooms to eat in which although were empty we were told were booked up for later). It's a very old coach house, felt like little... More

We were recommended this place when we stayed in Bonchurch but it was outstandingly ordinary. The 'life changing lasagna' was bland and under seasoned and presented on a plate hot enough to melt lead. The only change it wrought was to burn my tongue. The Carbonara was sticky rather than unctuous, the base of the (very expensive) pizza wasn't cooked... More

We are from the mainland,Lymington, and we visit the Island three or four times a year. Eight years ago, we were recommended to eat at The Bonchurch Inn. We have eaten at top places on the Island. We eat at Bonchurch Inn now and nowhere else.Nowhere is perfect, but this comes pretty close to it. Never change!

We love this place, not for the food which is average with some being very good, but for the wonderful way the pub hasn't changed in our memory, no music or games machines, just a small bar, good beer from the cask, some wonderful regulars. The outside area, although not having any spectacular views, is a lovely place to sit on... More

I am so pleased that this place never changes. Nothing needs to change. A well run business with good staff great food and a fantastic setting. We always look forward to coming here and are never disappointed.

We have visited the Bonchurch Inn on several occasions and it always exceeds expectations. Our latest visit was Saturday evening which was a really busy night but the staff just kept on going and the food was amazing. It amuses me that a previous review questions the life changing lasagne and another the suggests the crab is frozen - trust... More

This is a lovely local pub with incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, but the food lets it down. Believing the Italian spin we ordered the Antipasto. Salami, ham & pepperoni could have been Tesco. Crab and prawns were defrosted, no balsamic for the salad. Pâté was served with thick sliced white toasted bread. Main Course - steak and chips, Aunt... Visited for a lunch with friends and could not have been made more welcome. As it was a sunny day we ate in the courtyard. The food was just wonderful , the best garlic bread ever followed by delicious fish main courses, two of us had sea food pasta which was packed with prawns, mussels and squid in a tasty... More

Food was fantastic, freshly prepared top notch italian cuisine. Serving staff couldnt do enough to help, and the litle courtyard is a gem of a find.

Superb Bombardier Bitter from barrel. Sweet and perfect as you could wish for. Steak was superb as was Adrian's special of rock salmon. Oh I forgot the Ventnor Bay crab starter. NOT CHEAP but then this IS special.
