Gorgeous setting, fantastic, helpful, friendly staff. Food was lovely. Even my two fussy 3 and 2 year olds ate all of their dinners and desserts! Perfect! will be back again soon!

Good honest pub food with nice ales. I normally go for the ham and eggs , thick chunky ham and homemade chips. The lasagne is usually good as well. Recommended

Charming village local with a good range of beers and good food. Very friendly and helpful landlord, landlady, staff and locals. We saw some well laden plates of food going past us in the evening. On a Sunday they do an excellent roast dinner. We had roast sirloin of beef and leg of lamb (some of each). This was served... More

Having been here before, we thought we would go again, a nice fire as you go in, we sat at the window table which was really nice 3 friends together, we ordered when it came it was hot with fresh vegetables And I thoroughly enjoyed my shepherds pie and me had a extremely nice lemon pudding and ice cream with... This pub is well situated for people spending time on or along the Grand Union Canal, or walking around the reservoirs nearby. It is an attractive pub with plenty of character and the service is fine. However the menu and food are decidedly average, so I would be more likely to recommend the Half Moon to someone wanting to stop... More

Yesterday I had lunch and a pint with a friend at the Half Moon and it was really excellent. The pub is a charming building in a charming village. It has a very pleasant bar area and good tables if you want a meal, and there is ample outside seating if the weather is fine. The menu is quite big... More

We visited this pub after an early evening walk around the nearby Wilstone Reservoir. We were a large group so we had pre-ordered our food - and this small, traditional country pub coped very well with our "invasion". Everyone arrived at the pub looking forward to our food - and we were not disappointed - excellent pies, chilli, Thai chicken... More

Visited the Half Moon again on Sunday17 August and again an excellent family experience. Customer service was top notch as was my meal, the Cheese and Pepperd Mushroom Pie was a delight to eat even though it was brought in but as the Landlady mentioned the pies are of such a high standard why use her time making her own.The chips... Had a good lunch here recently. Value for money and the best chips I've had a for while! A decent pint of Doombar and relaxing, old style pub surroundings. A good choice of local walks to boot!

Wow......what can I say. 5 of us went for lunch and the portions were huge but so cheap. I had ham, 2 eggs and chips. The ham was thick and off the bone and loads of it, 2 lovely fresh fried eggs and gorgeous homemade chips. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it all!!!! My husband and son had scampi, chips and...
