Excellent

Good food, great selection of beer, nice friendly staff, a wonderful atmosphere and good value for money. Even the locals didn't bite! Not too sure about the paintwork/decor to be honest but we didn't go for that. i would heartily recommend

The food was good, not the best we've had but good enough and we enjoyed it. The ales and beers were lovely, staff were super nice. The atmosphere and character of pub are well worth the visit. Overall highly recommend it for a cosy pub with character, better than anything else locally.

We visited early on a Friday evening, and really like this pub. The Landlord is very friendly and offered us samples of some of the ales which are well kept and relatively reasonably priced (for the area!) The pub soon fills up with a mixture of all ages, and everyone was extremely convivial, but I think that if you want... More

Not much more to say than the title. It's pub food and delivers well. We had decent roasts with really good and crispy roast potatoes, curried parsnip soup and salmon gravalax for starters. Interesting choice of beers and I love the fact that they have tasting notes written up above the bar to guide the drinker on unfamiliar specials. Not... More

Sunday lunch at the Kings Arms was very good - excellent food at decent prices. Tables in the bar area are a bit tight but didn't cause a problem although there is another area where there appears to be more space and which I will request next time. Well worth a visit.

Visited with family and had a couple of perfectly served real ales from local (to this pub) breweries. The beers were Red Squirrel London Porter and Tring Moongazing chosen from a choice of 5. Very good range of single malts too – I counted about 12 different behind the bar. Sunday Lunch very tasty especially the superb roast potatoes but... More

Visited for lunch on Saturday. Sun shining but still too chilly to sit in the outdoor area and I did think about it as 4 elderly local guys were making so much noise it was off putting. They also took up 2 tables; but were asked to move to seat a family waiting to eat. Partner ordered a burger and... More

After reading all the reviews from tripadvisor, we decided to try it out & we wasn't disappointed with the foods at all. This is a very traditional drinking pub, don't have a proper/separate dining area that you normally get from a gastro pub. If there are a large group of drinkers at the bar, you will hear & see everything.... More

Thank you for your review and I'm glad you really enjoyed the food. I understand the issue we have with being a small venue and the lack of an option to dine away from the local drinkers. This is something we are addressing at the moment and during this year we are developing the old stables block where we are... More

My first visit to the Kings Arms for years and I can see it's in very good hands. Great ale to wash down delicious fish and chips and best of all they sell Salty Dog crisps!
