Perfect on a sunny day

I love coming here for a nice cold drink outside on those odd summery days. Situated perfectly just by the canal with plenty of outdoor seating and a decent sized garden with play area for the children. I haven't tried any of the food yet, so cannot comment on that, but guaranteed to be returning... read more

My husband and I popped in for a light lunch last week and were very disappointed. We waited at the bar for over 5 minutes, while 2 staff ignored us, one was sweeping the floor and the other was making coffee. Eventually the young lad who was sweeping looked at us, with no smile and no apology for keeping us... More

You can't beat this place in terms of location. You can beat it for food. Obviously a brilliant watering hole at the edge of a pretty part of the canal. Pleasant walks can be enjoyed both ways along the tow path. (incidentally we tried the ducks on frozen peas because we've been hearing so much about not feeding them bread... More

My wife and I visited this pub/restaurant for lunch. We both decided on a Sunday roast. It soon became very apparent they were under-staffed, and the people serving were young and inexperienced. We waited for just over an hour to receive our meals, and when we did, it was very below average fayre. The roast potatoes appeared under cooked, and... More

Have only ever been at lunch times. We go there for mid week drinks or lunch from work. If you arrive at opening time on a sunny day you can be in a queue to get served by the nice bar staff whilst the landlord flits around without helping to speed up the service. The bar and serving staff are... More
