Understandably popular canal side pub & very good value for money.

This is an understandably popular canal side pub. Very clean including the toilets; lots of tables inside and out but very busy on a winter's Sunday lunchtime. OK for two but book if you need a larger table. Service was prompt and friendly. We wanted a light lunch so ordered two fishcake starters... read more

The staff were so friendly and very accommodating. With a very fussy other half, the staff who helped us order were more than happy to make changes to what she wanted. There's a great range of food on the menu with and equally extensive range of drinks. With such a great looking, clean pub, I can't recommend this place more!... More

We had Sunday lunch in the Grand Junction Arms for about the 5th time this winter. The reason we keep going back? Consistency ... In my experience Sunday roast is the one meal that we all feel we know a lot about .... Is it actually that hard to get right? I have had enough bad meals to know its... More

This pub is a real gem. We love popping here when we are in the area. Home made soup is a real treat with a lovely crayfish sandwich. Lovely place for a walk or let the children play on the swings outside. Lots of parking fabulous ... Go you won't be disappointed!

Visited here last night for a family celebration, happy to accommodate us all and a 2 year old. Food took a little while longer than we would expect to come but was lovely and the staff were apologetic about that. Venison had a great flavour, fishcakes were raved about by 2 of our party, steak, fish and chips, crab linguine... More

We had Sunday lunch for 8 at this pub last Sunday. Although there was a mix-up with our booking, we were shown to a table quickly. The initial order was slow, but once we had given it, the food was fairly quick to arrive. We all enjoyed our meals - I had the crispy squid with a lemon, chilli and... More

Really excellent tasty food, and good service. I had the fish curry (salmon in an indian curry). Other people in my party raved over the crab pasta, the risotto, and the more standard pub grub of burgers and fish & chips also got rave reviews from the boys in the party!

Had lunch here twice, once on a busy Sunday and on a quieter Thursday. Both experiences were very good. The food was good pub grub, exactly what you would expect and plenty of it. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Good beers. Good value This is a great place to park up, go for a walk and finish up with... More
