Ranked #11 of 107 restaurants in Hemel Hempstead
Certificate of Excellence 2013
Cuisines: Indian
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Dinner, Reservations, Delivery, Late Night
Description: Uniquely styled, Hemel Hempstead’s K2 Balti House is situated on Two Waters Road, close to the banks of the River Gade, and between the very centre of Hemel Hempstead and the smaller area of Kings Langley. You won’t miss the restaurant - an imposing white painted building with its pillared entrance and statement blue neon exterior lighting. It has an eye-catching design with a very modern style, which continues on into the Restaurant itself, where comfort meets chic in the most dynamic of ways. Superb views out over pretty countryside scenery are enjoyed in the Conservatory area, while outdoor decking and Restaurant Terraces provide lovely "al fresco" dining away from the hubbub of the town centre. Service is extremely personable here at K2, with staff all trained to a very high standard, providing a truly professional but welcoming service.

Not the cheapest place to eat but well worth the money. Nice atmosphere with views out over the well tended and quiet garden area. A very good selection of tasty dishes with some out of the ordinary choices. Tables are beautifully laid out and the general decor is very pleasing. On the down side, the are no hot plates too... I ordered a take out and was told 30 mins. They practically ignored me when arriving and took a good 5 minutes before they stated my order would be "2 mins", they offered no apologies and we're quite frankly very rude for the further 40 minutes I was kept waiting (1hour 20mins in total). I enjoyed the food but due... More

Being our first visit we didn't really know what to expect, on arrival they happily greet you in the car park to help with parking and inside take you to your table. We was sat in the conservatory which was lovely and warm with a nice lighting which felt like you was on holiday. The tables are quite close together... More

Firstly, this is the most beautiful Indian Restaurant you are ever likely to enter. It is in a modern building on the river bank with lovely views from the large plate-glass windows. Tables are immaculately laid with spotless napiery, linen napkins and glasses and cutlery polished till it shines. It is a treat in itself just to sit down at... More

My husband and I came here on a Wednesday evening after a spontaneous decision to go out and try somewhere new. As soon as we drove into the car park, a staff member appeared to help guide us to a space. From then on we were well looked after - ushered straight into the restaurant, which was reassuringly busy and... More

Been coming here since it opened many years ago. Always good. Have just booked for Mothers Day lunch this year. There isn't much as good locally especially after Zeeras in Bovingdon closed. You should never feel hassled in a restaurant; you are the customer and you control when and how you are served. Our last visit in October before No... More

We have been to K2 a few times now, and the food has been consistently excellent. Sometimes we dine-in, sometimes we get a take-away. We live in Berkhamsted but come here if we fancy Indian food; the best in the area. Parking can be a little difficult, but there is usually a member of staff on hand to assist if... More

have been coming here for years. Always friendly, courteous, clean, but the main reason is the food is fantastic. I have tried all sorts of dishes, and it is always superb. Try the Dhansak, Lamb Naga, Chickten Tikka Masala, Monkfish, they are all wonderful. Mark Bracewell

I took my friend to k2 to celebrate her birthday. From the minute we walked in we were surrounded by staff whose main aim seemed to be to push us through in record time. Very difficult to relax. Main course was brought to our table when we were still eating our poppadoms. Food tasty but hassle from waiting staff spoils... More
