really tasty food

I had eaten food from the Chiang Mao previously but only as a take away. We decided to try an eat in experience for a change an we weren't disappointed. We were given a table in the room as you go in, it is nice and cosy, I don't know what the other rooms are like. The decor is themed... read more

My husband and I visited Chaing Mai having heard it was the best Thai restaurant in Hemel Hempstead! The restaurant is in the old town in a cute cottage style building. Parking outside is difficult but there is a big pay and display car park behind the restaurant that is perfect. We arrived through the small front door and nearly... More

This is the fourth time we've been and the fourth time I've had something different as the menu is varied and tastes great! The service is always attentive and polite. I've seen some reviews from others claiming the Chiangmai Cottage isn't up to scratch, change is needed and the food isn't great. All I'll say is they're clueless and clearly... More

Very good food! Highly recommend this place. We visited with family and everyone enjoyed it. Starters were amazing. Will definitely visit again.

We visited here for the 1st time for a special occasion as everyone says how nice it is and the reviews were great, so thought we would give it a go. But we were not impressed, starters were lovely but mains were nothing special and were very spicy to the point we couldn't enjoy them which was Shame even though... More

This has become our favourite restaurant - even though its a drive away in Old Hemel. Charming service, fair pricing and really delicious food. The Thai fish dishes are particularly good. The tiny downstairs of the restaurant is lovely and cozy and shows off the ancient building perfectly. I can't fault this place, I just wish that they'd move it... More

Just been for a birthday meal here worth friends. It was fully booked on a Sunday night! That says it all! Great thai food, great service and a beautiful restaurant full of character and atmosphere. We discovered they do a deal on Sunday and Mondays whet toy can order a stater, main, rice or noodles and a vegetable side dish... More

We used to be very regular but haven't been for a couple of years. The menu is EXACTLY the same - we pointed this out but manager stated "if it's not broke, don't fix it!" But equally, Gordon Ramsay says English people don't like to complain - they just don't come back, as we didn't for 2 years as it... More

5 of us ate on Saturday night. We had booked the round table at the front of the restaurant which was perhaps a mistake on such a cold night due to the draft every time the door was opened - we will know for next time! Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered two set menu A & two set... More

I've been here before years ago when it first opened and remember having a lovely time, we booked a table for four this Sunday and after a small wait we were show to our table upstairs. I love hot food but decided to have the tastier options, we all ordered something different so we could share each other's meals, everything... More
