nice place.

The service was a bit slow (maybe they were understaffed). Came with a large group for brunch and drinks, but the restaurant wasn't full (so it should average out). The food was pretty good, although the portions were a bit on the small side. Expected more from the treacle tart... It's a nice "if... read more

not only was our food very very late (some of it arriving when others had nearly finished their mains) for a prebooked table for 6, for a special 80th birthday, but when i later wrote and complained about it, the general manager then took another TWO MONTHS to reply to my concerns. she was conciliatory and offered a complimentary meal... Booked table for 4 plus baby for lunch today. It was at least 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drinks order... and that was after my daughter actually got up to find a member of staff to ask them if we could have some service. We wanted to order a bottle of wine. The waiter asked what wine... More

If you want an out of town easy to park lunch or snack then the Marchmont Arms is the place. Very comfortable inside with subtle modern décor, very good choice of menu, although as it was Bank Holiday it was limited. Very comfy armchairs. Lots of space outside if warm enough to eat and no traffic pollution.

We often visit the Marchmont arms with family and friends but never again .. We booked our table over the phone , we arrived on time and tried to book in ,the waitress looked puzzled and told us to wait . We waited for approx 10 mins until we were seated . Our table was in the conservatory area which... More

The atmosphere here is nice and relaxed. There's a nice seating area outside which for families is great as the children can play. The food's nice in the bar area and was served pretty fast. Staff were nice and attentive.

I went here for a birthday supper earlier this month. The food was excellent, tasty and well presented. We were given a window table and not hurried at all throughout the meal.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Restaurant half full but staff seemed to be struggle! Despite almost outnumbering the guests. Food was quick but poor. Sausage roll good salt and pepper squid awful deep fried and not cooked. Croquettes tasty but also not cooked. It can't be difficult to deep fry stuff! Lovely place which could easily move from 2... I like the Marchmont Arms because they serve lunch throughout the afternoon & I like a late lunch & then little if anything in the evening especially at the weekends. I was surprised how busy they were at about 3pm last Saturday so service was a little slow. The food however was excellent both our starters & main courses were... More
