I am not a great fan of Gastro pubs as in my experience they try to be both pub and gastro restaurant and finish up doing neither rather well. But this large picturesque village pub is now firmly in the Gastro restaurant category and the focus is clearly on food as the fact that nearly the whole internal space is... More

We were travelling back North from Dover and escaped the motorway looking for somewhere to eat, finding this pub by accident. Wow what a find! Although we were weary travellers and a bit scruffy, we were made really welcome in this very smart, well decorated and maintained pub. The flavours and presentation of the food were fantastic, and we we... More

Passing through and stopped here for lunch on a whim when feeling hungry. Service was good, food was excellent. Everything freshly made (even the chips) and all tasted fabulous. If in the neighbourhood, we'd certainly visit again!

Had lunch at the Dukes Head yesterday after a walk in nearby Hatfield Forest. The pub was lovely - well decorated and comfortable with spotlessly clean loos (my partner was most impressed with the Beatles-themed gents!) and the staff were very pleasant, so I was well disposed to thoroughly enjoy my meal, but unfortunately the food I had could generally... We have eaten here on several occasions with family and friends and always have a great time. The food is always top notch and I think I am becoming addicted to the bubble and squeak eggs Benedict starter. The atmosphere is relaxed with lots of laughter all around. A great bar, great staff, what more could you want?

Great atmosphere, lovely surroundings, fab menu and great service. Found this pub on our way to and from the Down Hall hotel. In a lovely village not far from Stansted airport.

Myself and my sister booked a surprise 30th anniversary meal here last week. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and the actual restaurant was perfect. We had a nice long table which comfortable fitted 15 of us on. Thank you for making the evening a special one for our mum and dad - we will... More

Went in today with my pops and had a lovely drink! Sat outside in the sunshine in the most beautiful well maintained garden! Did have any food as they had stopped serving but the menu looked divine! I lovely little find with ample parking and loads of outside seating! Inside looks lovely too! Will defiantly return if nearby again!
