Book a table to avoid being disappointed as The Candlestick does get busy. Today the 3 of us had a roast (4 on offer), the vegetarian nut roast ( which was one of the most delicious) and a burger and chips. The food was fresh, homemade, hot and well presented. The desserts were also delicious. One of our favourite places... More

Poor services waited over one hour for food. Tables not cleared away. The portion sizes are very small for the high prices they are charging. £16 for a rib eye steak, that was so thin, it was smaller than the burgers we ordered, handful of chips and half a mushroom. Plenty more pubs in the area, serving better quality food... More

I go to this pub about 5 times a year for lunch and am always greeted as though they'd just seen me yesterday. The food is excellent, well prepared and presented. The warm chicken and avocado salad is a particular favourite of mine. it is light and airy and in the winter the fire is a great comfort

This was our second time at The Candlestick after a good long dog walk. Food (Sunday Lunch) was excellent - very generous portion sizes - and there was good choice for adults, children and the vegetarians in the part were well catered for too. Overall I would highly recommend - the service was excellent too, very attentive and efficient.

We chose to eat here as it was dog friendly . We were warmly welcomed on a cold night . There were log fires and the pub was bright and warm . The food was well cooked and tasty . We will certainly visit here again .

I reserved a table at the pub for a 6 person pre wedding celebration. The table was ready and waiting when we arrived and the staff were very prompt with drinks. The sandwiches were made with very fresh bread and my chicken, bacon and avocado salad was flavoursome and delicious. The prices are very reasonable and I am glad we... More

2nd visit and we weren't disappointed. Great, unusual options on the menu. Something for everyone. We'll presented and very we'll cooked. Would have been 5 stars but for the tepid sweet potato mash and fruit jus with the Nutella sandwich. It should be hazelnut or chocolate!! Service was perfect. Lisa is an absolute delight. Helpful and funny. Perfect. Will be... More

Warm welcome, great real ale, real fire. Interesting small menu. Our favourites are a chicken bacon avocado salad which is delicious -you actually get half an avocado which is nice, not just a few pieces. My husband often has the burger which is home made and really tasty. We go weekly; the prices are reasonable enough for us to do... More

I went there with my dad for a meal, we got sat in between the bar and the open fire, it was warm but maybe a bit too warm as we were sat only a foot away. Starter and main were fantastic however desert (xmas pud) was microwaved and a bit chewy. Great priced food and not too much choice.... More

We received a warm and friendly welcome from all staff. It was lunchtime so we ordered from the lighter menu-fish finger sandwich and halloumi and tomato salad. Both were freshly prepared and yummy! Looking forward to trying an evening meal.
