As good as it gets

We have been going to Cafe Jeera since it opened many years ago. The Onion bhajis are the best I have eaten, crisp on the outside and you can actually see the onion on the inside! It is difficult to single out any of the dishes as they are all so good. I like the fact that the sauces are... read more

We have been going to Jeera since it opened many years ago and keep going back! We had a takeaway and went there to eat recently, and it's still as good as ever. We have occasionally tried others, but haven't found anywhere as good locally.

Really enjoyable evening with a party of 15. As on previous visits the food was excellent and probably the best Indian food in Harpenden. Very popular restaurant and so you need to book at potentially busy times when it tends to be quite noisy. The service is also excellent.

Probably the best Indian restaurant in the area if you are eating in the restaurant...... but I find that ordering a take away is never as good .... not only are some items not always hot some items are not delivered correctly and on some cases missed of the order completely ... this has happened on a number of occasions... Fancied Indian food with out eating out so got a take away. At some restaurants if I phone and collect I feel pressure to take more but never here. They are always very welcoming and speedy. The spicy lamb curry was great and there are few people who do not enjoy tandoori chicken especially when done so well. The nan... More

I already tried indian food in France, and I didn't really enjoyed it. My friends told me the dishes were different in the UK and this is true. All dishes are prepared with a sauce. This was actually good. I liked it but this is still not my favorite kind of food. I would say somethinf is missing to turn... More

The food is amazing. Always fresh and beautifully flavoured, no matter which dish. Best in Harpenden and surrounding area! And not expensive compared to other local restaurants!

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and it has a consistently high standard you can usually just turn up during the week but weekends you definitely need to book. Staff are very attentive and friendly, it's just a great curry place!

We had 2 main dishes, 2 vegetables dishes, 1 rice and a naan bread. The quality of the food was very high and the flavours were unique amongst all of the dishes. The best Indian food we have had in the local area for a very long time. A dish recommendation would be Keema Peas with extra ginger! Delicious.

Good quality food with lots of choice and many chef specials on offer. Fairly small restaurant and very full on our Saturday night meal so book. It's traditional fare which seems a bit old fashioned these days but I suppose suits some more than others. Personally I would like to have seen some modern interpretations of lighter, fresher dishes. Highly... More
