We have been going here for years now and it is a reliable favourite. Good service. Just 2 observations, can we have draft beer please and maybe just lose the free chocolates and knock a pound off the bill?

I expected more from a restaurant in Harpenden and believed this place had a good reputation. It was an average Indian serving average food and nothing special...I'm Indian by the way. When I asked the waiter if his mother would be happy with what we were served he replied that it had been a very busy evening! I'll take that... More

The Cafe Jeera has been turning out consistent and delicious food for years now. I think it’s better priced the Cinnamon (up the road), and it’s more comfy inside. Cannot fault it. And they do Kingfisher in pints..... perfect!

Tried for the 1st time with good friends on Saturday night - liked the menu as had a few different items like Salmon Tikka and Monkfish. Starters all delicious, our curry was just the right heat and had great flavours although our friends found it a tad too hot -but perfect for us! Service was very prompt and seemed good... More

We have visited several times over the past few years and have never been able to fault the food or service. The restaurant has an authentic feel and good atmosphere so it is the Indian in Harpenden I would always choose for a special occasion. Monkfish curry particularly good and difficult to find in other Indian restaurants. I was slightly... More

We've recently moved to the area and have been trying many of the local restaurants. Café Jeera served great food - with distinct tastes and textures. It was a real pleasure to visit and is definitely our number one choice in the area.

Seems to have improved during the past year - very good staff ( albeit sometimes over staffed ). Must say food very good always tastes as it's just been cooked ! Will carry on using for my fortnightly curry with friends and wife best one in Harpenden by far.

We tried the other Indians in Harpenden, then tried this 1, never again. Both myself & my husband had very delicate stomachs & it was seriously overpriced. The rice was cold & the everything else was either over spiced or not spiced at all. The staff were disinterested & left us deciding not to go again.

Recently had a curry at an award winning restaurant in Yorkshire. Cafe Jeera much, much better. Never had a bad meal although the naan's seem to have shrunk recently. A draft lager would be nice.

I have been here several times and it is my favourite Indian in Harpenden. The Nan breads are always wonderfully light, I also find the rest of the menu made with a 'lighter touch' than other Indian restaurants. service is always pleasant and efficient.
