Nice place for lunch

Called in for a late lunch after visiting the Brockhampton Estate. Despite having a large party in we were warmly welcomed and had nice home made pie , chips and salad. Very tasty.

Came here with my mum, sister 2 friends and my young daughters. Very friendly landlord who greeted us with complimentary mince pies :) food was delicious and generous portions. My eldest daughter is 2 and a bit of a live wire and the landlord was very happy to entertain her and let her play around the tables. Would highly recommend as... More

Staying in the area we found this pub online and got excited when we saw they have a vegan menu. My husband and I both had garlic mushrooms on garlic bread. For people who are dairy free this is very exciting! It was lovely but for me the bread could of had more garlic but that's just my garlic addiction... More

Went to the Royal Oak recently, the welcome was friendly, service was very good, when our food arrived it was hot, tasty and plentiful. Would eat there again if ever in the area.

Went for evening meal and chose to eat in bar rather than restaurant. Service was excellent and barmaid very attentive and on the ball. We both chose the bbq spare ribs which were delicious and the portion size was very generous. We have visited here many times and this pub never fails to deliver.

We went to the Royal Oak on Saturday for an spur of the moment night out. We have been there umpteen times before, as it can always be relied on to be good. We weren't disappointed. We ate in the lounge bar as the restaurant was quite full, but this was fine with us as the lounge bar is very... More

Pretty pub with bags of character in a fab location with lovely gardens. Food was great, the ale is first class. Welcome was warm and the service faultless. What more do you need?

Quite country pub with excellent traditional cooked pub food, the pub is family run, with great customer service and prompt to boot. On a nice day you can look at the lovely surrounding countryside with a cold beer or maybe a glass of wine definitely worth a visit if you are passing, even on a cold day sit by the... More

6 adults 1 child and a dog piled in on a wet bank holiday Monday for lunch. Food was hot, tasty and well priced. Staff were welcoming, even when the dog barked at them. We have been here a few times in the past but always sat outside in the sun. Nice to be able to take the dog in... More

Lovely, friendly pub, relaxed atmostphere. Lovely location plenty of parking and places to play for children. The menu is what I would call a good honest pub choice - the steak and ale is particularly good.
