Good food, good real ale

Went here on Boxing Day after a lovely walk on the Bromyard downs. A traditional pub with good real ales on offer. The menu was varied and provided a good enough choice for our table of ten. A number of us had the fish pie, which proved to be a really good choice, well cooked and very tasty, the... read more

I go here regularly. They have very friendly and welcoming staff and the food is all home cooked. The menu is possibly the biggest menu I have ever seen with a great selection of vegetarian dishes. The puddings are also fab. Lovely cosy pub would highly recommend

I went to this pubs or lunch yesterday and had the most overpriced and disapointing meal I've had for a while. We had researched a pub in the area beforehand on tripadvisor to ensure we had a nice meal, but in this case it didn't work so I want to ensure this doesn't happen to others. This wasn't a case... I made a sausage sandwich this morning using fresh, award winning ingredients. Price per sandwich approximately 50p. Price at the Royal Oak for the same meal was £6.50 and they used frozen catering sausages, flavourless and probably composed of more rusk than pork. Plus at this price, you don't expect to pay an additional £1 for chips. The burgers were... More

We took a coach with 46 passengers to the Royal Oak on Monday 16th March. We all had the carvery which was enjoyed by all. A three meat selection, beef, pork and turkey, plenty of vegetables, roast and boiled potatoes, gravy and a selection of sauces. We had a choice of 3 desserts, raspberry ripple cheesecake, ice cream with a... More

Having read a few interesting reviews about The Royal Oak we decided to try it last Saturday evening. We arrived around 6.45 and initially had a problem finding our way in from the car park which was pitch black with one solitary small light. There were only two or three other customers already in there so having the choice of... More

Very good . value for money . Amazing choice of Vegetables & Potatoes . Whilst plenty of Turkey ,Pork & Beef on your Plate the Meat lacked in flavour , surprisingly i would suspect the method of cooking for larger quantities may have something to do with it & a possible fear of any upset tummies . Again very surprisingly... More

Firstly, I must say that the young lady who appeared to do everything while we were there, did her very best. Obviously the management did not expect to be as busy as they were on the Friday after New Year. Four of us eat together every month, ringing the changes and very rarely going to the same place twice. This... More

Had lunch here with friends (28th). Service was excellent, very pleasant and amenable. The menu was quite extensive (often a warning sign?) however the food was to a very good standard and we all enjoyed our meals...and reasonably priced to boot. Thanks for a lovely afternoon Royal Oak!
