We cycled to Bucklers Hard from Lymington and came across The Master Builders. My husband went in to get drinks whilst I waited for the bikes - he was gone quite a while. He eventually return without any drinks - he couldn't find a bar open! I went in and sure enough there are three bars and only one was... More

Had my first ever pint of beer in this pub - about 35 years ago - when people queued 3 deep at the bar and the place was buzzing with probably 200+ people. Now you still queue 3 deep at the bar but that's because there's only 1 person serving - slowly! We went for evening meal by boat with... More

We moored our boat in the river and had eaten here before, but was rather disappointed this time, had meal in the bar, it was busy, but staff were helpful, the steak I ordered was rather tough, and my daughter's fish pie was more sauce than fish. Small portion of Scampi for main course, in all, a lovely location but... More

This establishment does not appear to be that interested in the Restaurant part of their operation. I suspect the wet sales on the summer days along with the bar-b-q offerings are their main focus and money earner. The Restaurant is mainly there to support residents and is not really worth visiting. Some staff are trying but there is no leadership... More

Cold food, lack of respect for customers and raw food coming out of the kitchen. Management arguing with customers about the food standards. Poor vegetarian selection.

Visited on August bank holiday with family and chose to dine outside. I definitely got the impression that if you wanted to just have a drink don't bother - I had to wait in long food queue for drinks only - with hindsight my high ideas of wanting a drink while we were deciding what to order was a bad... Visited this pub several times over the weekend as our boat was moored 5 minutes walk away and the place was convenient. The bar was busy every time as you would expect on a bank holiday and it seemed the staff were struggling to keep up with the demand as tables were left uncleared and the place felt rather unclean.Food... Poor service in the bar. Food poor, prices ridiculous and staff straight out of school with little or no customer care skills. Breakfast in the restaurant was a delight. How can the bar and restaurant be related!! Hotel good just make sure you eat dinner before you check in!

An easy walk from where we had moored on a sailing holiday this week. Slow service and queue at the bar. Food was very poor all round with a very tough steak for one of our party. Staff couldn't care and not at all interested that the steak was not cooked medium rare as requested and was tough.. At half... More

Rip off! Top restaurant prices for mediocre food. My husband's roast chicken tasted dull and his crushed potatoes were undercooked. My roast bream fillet was nice but the fondant potatoes were hard. Despite the waiter asking how our meal was he seemed to be uninterested in our not so positive feedback. The staff were over attentive but insincere.

Thank you for your review. I was so sorry to read of your recent experience.
