Nice spot if when you want to relax after canoe paddling

Nice environment. We arrived there with canoe as we paddled from Bailey to that place for about 2 miles. It’s close to a marina on the calm Beaulieu river, the only privately-owned river in the UK. Wood benches outside, and ability to get standard food (fish & chips, pasta, burger, ..) . Do not... read more

One of my favourite hotels, the location is stunning, the hotel querky with friendly staff, we stayed in one of the classic rooms and although these are in a modern extention to the hotel they were decorated nicely, the room was a little small but bathroom spacious and ok for a couple of nights or short break. The free vodka... More

Having grown up in the New Forest and surrounding areas and never having visited, myself and my other half made a trip to the Master Builder's this evening, and popped into the Yachtsman's Bar for a meal. The bar area didn't look very busy, we only saw one table of two people eating. My girlfriend is gluten intolerant, which has... More

Given you are quite a way from any where when staying here you would think the evening meals would be more of a feature. As it was there was little choice, a long wait and poor quality when it arrived. I might understand a place has almost nothing vegetarian, but my wife's meat meal was also underwhelming.

We order a ploughmans lunch, the cheese as mouldy, the salad was tired/dry, the bread was dry. We re ordered the steak sandwich and the chips that come with it were cold, they had only been open 30 mins. Obviously not freshly prepared or cooked! We won't eat there again.

After 10 years of visiting on and off due to the location it is still shocking service in the bar. Often people waiting for ages just to order a drink, never enough staff. Then you have the management walking around in there shirt & tie ! Roll your sleeves up and serve customers as we are fed up with the... More

Yachtsman's Pub - I am really sorry that you feel service has not improved in the ten years you have been coming to the Yachtsman's Pub. We certainly do not take the thousands of visitors who pass through the pub doors on a weekly basis for granted. Over the last two years a great deal of changes have been introduced... More

We visited recently for Sunday lunch with some dear friends. We had the most amazing lunch, it was delicious. The service was friendly and helpful and we sat for most of the afternoon having a delightful time. Many thanks to the staff and compliments to the chefs. Between us all we managed to try lots of items from the menu.... More

A nice choice of food on the menu. Good quality food and for three courses it was about the right price. A shame the view was spoilt by the trees etc as the restaurant was a nice room to dine in. I would recommend this as a place to dine.

Riverview Restaurant - Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your lunch in the restaurant. The trees along the river have been there for many years - possibly a hundred - and although they block part of the river view, they certainly add to the setting. We look forward to welcoming you back. More

sought refreshment on a warm afternoon so tea outside overlooking the area was perfect. Staff were attentive and helpful - the tea was just the job (plenty of it for the three of us) each with a biscotti. The table umbrella was of generous proportions providing welcome shade as we chatted and watched the world come and go. Sadly, the... More

Yachtsman's Pub - Thank you for your review. On a sunny day, a cup of tea in the garden overlooking the Beaulieu River, is hard to beat. We do not allow smoking in the pub, but smokers are allowed to smoke in the garden. Hopefully we will see you back again. More

Stopped here after waking the dogs from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard mini village! It a a lovely place to visit and cars are not permitted into the small village. The pub was a beautiful old pub with a wonderful atmosphere and welcomed dogs which was a bonus. It was really clean and the staff were very welcoming. There is a... More

Yachtsman's Pub - thank you for your great review. Edward Cracknell's homemade pie is certainly a popular item on the menu, and one of my favourites. We look forward to welcoming you back. More
