We have used the Royal Oak for a number of years, especially when we want somewhere to eat with our grandchildren, not any more, the new owners have done away with the children's play area and high chairs, stating "a pub sin' a place for kids". New landlady and team have made great improvements to the food and service. Although very busy the service was good and the duck was excellent.

We always used this pub & the service, food & the hospitality was second to none. Second time since the change, it was a long time since the first as that was below par then, hence have not been back since. Found that the children's play area now gone the garden cut in half & we were going to eat... More

This pub has recently been opened under a new manager and we were ken to visit as we had had several bad or average meals here before. We arrived on a hot Sunday for lunch. We had reserved seats in the restaurant but asked if we could sit outside instead. This was no problem. We had very friendly service and... More

After a 4 mile walk we were lucky enough to get a table at this very small pub, it is one of the oldest in the New Forest and is located at the end of a busy cul de sac. We had a delicious ploughmans I had the Stilton and hubby the pate, large portions with two soft drinks cost... More

Had a scrummy meal at the royal oak. Service excellent and surroundings clean and relaxing. Sat inside, as smokers tend to sit in the outside areas which as a non smoker is not very comfortable when eating.

Decided to have a run out to the new forest, and have a sunday lunch, Alas we happened along the Royal Oak, Looks lovely from outside, and it does look nice inside, Thought the roast beef was a tad pricey at £12.95, but thought we would give it a go. When it arrived on cold plates, it looked just like... More

Lovely reception on arrival from the staff. Ordered drinks and took menus out into the garden to catch the last of the sun. Wonderful play area for children. Drinks were brought out to us and our orders were taken - Slow cooked belly pork and 2 x Fish & Chips. What was refreshing was we were told not to rush... More
