This is what you expect an Inn te be... friendly, intimate, cosy, a wide range of beers and nice food. This is the place to be after a long walk through the New Forest. Crowded on sundays, so be there in time.

Stopped for a quick drink. Dogs welcome which is a bonus. Swing for kids outside another plus point. Nice location.

Called in for dinner. Very nice greeting from Elliott, and we were well looked after. We were also served by Sid, who along with Elliot was an absolute gent. Uncanny resemblance to Prince Harry, impeccably well mannered and couldn't do enough for us. Management - you need to hang on to these two and I hope are on at least... More

Had a meal here on a very hot and muggy evening. The table we sat at was sticky and the bench was ripped! No air in the place which made it very uncomfortable. Food wasn't up to anything either. Wouldn't go there again. Shame, because it's next to the lovely campsite we stayed at & it looks lovely from outside!... More

Went for what looked like a nice lunch, in a nice pub,in a nice part of the New Forest. Real ales brewed in its own micro brewery. Really nice real ales! Food stops at 1430 so mad dash for the menu. Gammon and egg, Burger and two chillies umm nice. 10 minutes later the what is now embarrassed staff member... More

Went for Sunday Roast today, beautiful surroundings and the Inn itself is lovely. My partner and I both had the beef. Couldn't fault it... A decent amount of excellent home cooked beef, crispy roasties, lovely yorkshire pud, variety of perfectly cooked veg and to top it all one of the best gravy's ever..Very friendly and attentive service . We will... More

As food lovers with reasonably high standards we were certainly not disappointed. On a busy Saturday our meal arrived within half an hour. My husbands steak was lovely and chips hot and the nicest pub chips I've ever tasted. The pigeon, bacon and black pudding salad was amazing. The desert was equally beautiful. Some things on the menu had run... More

Travelled out to the Red Shoot for a mid-week lunch in mid-June, and had an excellent meal. The menu was varied, with inspiringly innovative vegetarian options. It was clear that the menu is all home-made. I ordered a leek, camembert & mushroom dish with a chestnut crumble, which sounded great but was slightly disappointing in that the leeks were a... More
