Had lunch here on 21 March 2014, glad we got in at 12.00 as it became very busy quickly after that . Good selection of wholesome pub grub and was not disappointed. Spotless pub, very pleasant helpful staff and certainly recommend it to all if you are in Minstead a delightful village and the location of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's... More

pub was extremely busy, we queued for about ten minutes to place an order, several items on the menu were no longer available we were told, maybe the good weather had meant they were busier than usual. The goats cheese wrap was nice enough but didn't need the additional pot of red onion relish. The pulled pork wrap with apple... More

decided to try here for lunch on a friends birthday as we had just visited the delightful Furzey Gardens ( 2 or 3 minutes by car).1st impressions were poor, and didn't get any better it is very tired, and run down, therefore you might expext country pub type prices, but not at all ( do view the menu on line)... Had lunch at the Trusty Servant and the food was lovely, well cooked, fresh and beautifully presented. The pub itself is absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and plenty of tables both inside and out. Nice to see plenty of space between tables inside so you have room to breathe which isnt the case in a lot of pubs. Service was great... More

My wife and I went for a lunch time meal after a walk in the Forest on a beautiful sunny day. Sat outside on the garden terrace in the sun in shirt sleeves on a March day. We both had the slow braised steak and ale pie with potatoes and vegetables inside the pie, with a pot of gravy, different... More

After a warm and lovely afternoon in the forest, the Trusty Servant was on the last corner so would have rude not to have sampled the local ale and enjoy something to eat. Whilst the pub is clearly well presented and retains a lot of the rustic charm of a traditional country pub, I'm not entirely sure what the fuss... More

Had a meal at The Trusty Servant last week. Cant fault the atmosphere, decor or location. The food was excellent apart from my wife's meal. The scallops were not cooked enough so she asked for them to be cooked a bit more. Instead of the scallops being removed from the plate and cooked, the whole meal was taken away and... More

Minstead is a bit off the map in the New Forest, but it is a real gem, and The Trusty Servant is the essence of a proper English pub. THe unmistakable aroma of no less than 3 real open fires greets you as you enter, a circular bar and local ales await. To the side is the restaurant (you can... More

I had lamb shoulder it fell off the bone and hardly any fat just lots of tender meat (I couldn't finish it all!!). Lovely big... More
