Very good traditional Indian Restaurant

We have eaten a number of times over the years at the Passage to India and it never disappoints. You always get a warm welcome and attentive service. The interior is smart but traditional with proper linen table clothes. The food is on the expensive side but is very good in terms of presentation... read more

We are local residents and regular customers at Passage to India both dining in and takeaway food. The menu is extensive and interesting and it's good value for money. The restaurant has been there over 25 years and have a loyal following in the area. Excellent food and service everytime.

In Lyndhurst on a Sunday evening we found that our choice was a pub or this Indian restaurant. We were pleased that we chose the Indian as it was a very good meal at a sensible price. Some different menu choices, e.g venison and squid, and good, friendly service. Overall, better than the average Indian restaurant and well worth a... More

We visited this restaurant this evening with our two daughters aged 4 and 5 - whilst on holiday in Lyndhurst. We were a little apprehensive about taking out girls as we were later eating than usual and they were tired. We shouldn't have worried. The staff were really great with our girls and when the youngest tried to sleep whilst... More

We were in need of a meal on Sunday evening and came across Passage to India. The staff were friendly and attentive. The starter Prawn Puree was ok, it was rather bland and needed spicing up a bit. However, the main courses of Korai Chicken and Chicken Dupiaza were extremely good and so were the side dishes. We would definitely... More

We went for an evening meal, it wasn't too busy and we were seated on a side of the restaurant that was almost empty. Food was a good quality, fresh and full of flavour. Portions were a good size, and we ended up over ordering because of that, but I'm not complaining! Not too expensive, and if you are a... More

I travelled from Portsmouth to this restaurant based on a recommendation. The staff were very nice and the presentation was beautiful. The ambiance of the restaurant is a family restaurant and you can go with friends, or anything really. The food was excellent, alongside the presentation. The manager was very kind and passionate about his customers, very conversational and gave... More

Have had takeaway from here a couple of times and have always been really impressed by the welcome and the quality of the food. Would be interested to eat in one day! It's all quite cramped inside, but the staff are clearly happy to see you and so nobody really minds shuffling about. Takeaway portion sizes are very good.

This is a curry club of great britain member and the AUTHENTICITY of its curries fully justifies it; I won't eat a curry anywhere else now, as I am bored to death with British army or Midlands influenced Bangladeshi curry; they do do take aways, but while these are very good as far as take aways go, I prefer their... I've been to this restaurant a couple of times now and on each occasion the food has been well presented and tasty. Highly recommended and will be going back when in the area.
