Good food and drink

I visited the Waterloo Arms as I was staying at the Forest Lodge Hotel and could walk to the pub within 2 minutes. The building and garden was beautiful and the staff were friendly. The drinks were very reasonable including cocktails and cava by the glass for less than £5! The food was tasty... read more

I've been here a number of times now for something to eat & I like the fact that it's a proper pub serving normal pub food. I adore their burgers & I hope they never take the Jalfrezi burger that they currently have off the menu!!

This place was recommended to us. The moment we stepped in it felt 'right'. It was a mixture of locals and those like ourselves, just visiting the area. We had booked earlier and on our arrival we were greeted like long lost friends. There were three lovely young ladies on duty that evening - can't remember the names, but you... More

My parents and I enjoyed a lovely mid week lunch at this pub. The food was reasonably priced and very delicious. It was quite busy for a Tuesday lunchtime which is always a good sign. Lots of parking which is also a bonus!

Very attractive and well tended pub, plenty of seating and lovely outdoor eating area. Food out of this world and good value and bonus was that the staff were all very welcoming so much so we went back on several occasions.

Stumbled across the Waterloo Arms when staying in Lyndhurst last December and thought we'd give it a go - what a great find. It's a bit tucked away but well worth a visit- the interior is old and rustic with a big open fire, comfy sofas etc near the bar and (at that time of the year) plenty of cheerful... More

This pub was only a couple of minutes walk from our rented cottage and we were so lucky to have it on our doorstep. Great food especially the beef ribs and very friendly service. Definitely recommend this for great pub food.

During our week in the New Forrest based in Lyndhurst we ate at the Waterloo Arms each evening. It was recomended to us by our B&B proprieters and lived up to our expectations. The waiting staff were most attentive and polite. The food well cooked and in great variety. The atmosphere in the dining area was relaxed. Service was good... More

Despite not being hugely busy, it took an hour to receive our food after the order had been made. Three of the meals were the wrong ones, with one of them supposed to be at another table. By the time the three orders had been been corrected and brought out, the other four in our party had finished eating. I... More

A hard decision whether to award a full five or four for this beautiful traditional English pub. Visited midweek lunch I opted for one of the specials, baked cod with chorizo served on a bed of 'linguine'... The only reason marked a four is that it was served on spaghetti, otherwise extremely well executed and wouldn't have been out of... More
