Having lived in the forest 20 years ago I came to know the Waterloo Arms as one of the best, for a combination of all the best offerings of a traditional forest pub atmosphere and excellent food. It was this basis I confidently chose the Waterloo Arms as the perfect place to take my wife's family from the states to... More

This is a great old traditional pub with lots of character, it has a roaring log fire which is great on a cold winters night, the food is to die for ( trust me I've eaten in a lot of pubs) the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Julie G Shepperton

Food rubish service terrible very rowdy noise from bar when i complained about it I was informed it is a pub as well we left and went somewhere where people respect other people. Will never go here again.

Stopped off for lunch. It was delicious. The pub is quaint, low beams and a cosy atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. A very relaxed, comfortable ambience.

We visited during a relaxing break in lyndhurst and were not disappointed. You have the choice of a formal restaurant setting or more informal bar setting. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu even on Sunday is varied with traditional Sunday roast or other delicious sounding options. Bar drinks include local cask ales which are very well kept. We opted... More

A delightful old pub (three centuries plus). A wide menu and lots of "specials" at reasonable prices. The food was very good and served hot (my personal obsession!) Service was good. One young waitress seemed to have learned customer service without the words "please and thank you" and yet was strangely enchanting. We had no complaints. After lunch we moved... More

A group of eight of us turned up for Sunday lunch at a busy time and were managed very effectively. Everyone pleased with the food and the beer and we went on our way very happy.

If you want the perfect local pub, with a landlord and landlady that immediately make you feel part of the family and that nothing is too much trouble; then this is it. We loved the warm atmosphere, roaring fire and good home cooked pub grub. We mentioned mulled wine and although it wasn't on the menu, a couple of steaming... More

Seen the sign for the Waterloo arms on our way to lyndhurst and decided to stop for a quick drink. It was a nice day so decided to sit outside. I thought the beer garden was lovely and there was very comfortable seating so ended up sitting there for much longer than planned as the atmosphere was so relaxing. When... More
