Visited with family members, including children. Staff were very friendly. Delicious cakes. Just right for the occasion. Purposely chosen for the playground as we had young children with us. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to sit outside. We were very comfortable inside though.

By appointment, our walking group of 26 had reserved tables in the pub. All orders had been placed prior to our walk in the New Forest. Our food arrived soon after we sat down and I think everyone was very pleased with the food and service. All the cooked food was really hot. There is also plenty of parking.

We this is a lovely family friendly pub in the New Forest, the food is good value for money. Would recommend the Sunday roasts and the garden play area is fantastic for children to burn off some energy!

On our way back from Heathrow we decided to stop off in the New Forrest for a bit of lunch. Having arrived at the Sir Walter Tyrell ( near Rufus Stone) we ordered our beer and took a look at the menu. It appeared that they only did hot meals but after enquiring, the bar staff pointed out that the... More

I recently went for lunch here and it had such promise. I ordered poached Salmon with seasonal veggies and had been lead to believe the salmon would be cold. Instead it came out quite hot and had a slightly off putting "fishy-ness" to it. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and quite rude to my colleague who dared to ask... More

Called in for Lunch. Very hot day but cool inside. Great welcome by friendly and happy staff. Very good choice on Menu and Specials Board. Quick efficient service despite being busy. All in all a top New Forest pub.

Just waited 45 minutes on a fairly quiet night for a very average meal. No starters available, not even any garlic bread! Tables not very clean either,. Last time we go here and we are local.

We had lunch here and I have to say the food was fresh, tasty and very good value for money. I had a salad as I'm dieting and was surprised at the choice of salads to choose from. Really nice, large and tasty. I did suffer from food envy watching other peoples food come out, it all looked delicious. We... More

Again approached with caution due to some of the reviews here but the setting was so lovely we thought we'd venture in and see what we thought. We were greeted by a bustling and friendly atmosphere. We ordered drinks easily from a very friendly barman and checked the menu out - we're not meat eaters but there were good fish... More
