Had a large family lunch here, over 20 of us, as it was a Sunday the place gets busy . Good choice on the menu, had a feeling it was going to be one of those days. Thankfully it was ok nothing amazing and not terrible, think the staff were overworked but hey thats management

Called here late one Sunday afternoon/early evening and had a very tasty good quality meal. I hadn't expected to find a lot left on the menu at this time however there was a good choice. I had a roast dinner and my husband had a vegetarian meal. The beer is good too.

The Sir Walter Tyrell offers great food at good prices. It's a nice olde worlde quirky place with a thatch over the bar, quite a few wagon wheels and various implements etc. Nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit and very close to the Rufus Stone.

We visited this pub for lunch last Saturday. When we ordered go 2 adults and 2 children I was told we had to wait for 40 min as the kitchen was very busy. After waiting the 40 min I was then told we had to wait a further 45 min as my original order had been mislaid.when I challenged this... More

We were on our way from Godshill to Burley and took a wrong turn and arrived in Rufus Stone. Was just about to turn around and saw a sign to the Sit Walter Tyrrell Inn, as it was lunch time we decided to head there instead!! Its an Olde World Pub, very charming with large car park and seating at... More

We had been here before for lunch meal, the evening meal was only ok, the Dorset apple cake wasn't the best had more sultanas than apple, chocolate cake could of been a little more moist.

We enjoyed a Ploughmans last Saturday and thought the meal was delicious. It was a big plate with plenty of food. The staff seemed friendly and efficient. The pub has olde worlde charm with horse brasses / farming equipment on the ceiling. Ponies roam freely outside. There is also an excellent wooden fort for the kiddies.

Had a meal in this pub on Monday 25th, as usual the food was excellent, I live over 2hrs away, but whenever I visit my daughter (in Salisbury) we always have a meal here, (never had a bad one), I can highly recommed the Key Lime Pie soooooo good. Looking forward to my next visit already, think it may have... More

Visited with family members, including children. Staff were very friendly. Delicious cakes. Just right for the occasion. Purposely chosen for the playground as we had young children with us. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to sit outside. We were very comfortable inside though.

Stopped here after a walk through the New Forest. Lovely setting but the pub looks fairly ordinary. Inside it has plenty of character but still has a chain pub feel. Ordered a pint and a coffee. 15 minute later still no coffee. Asked what had happened and they said sorry and brought it. No explanation. Food menu not very inspiring.... More
