Booked a table for two a couple of days earlier for Sunday 14th September at 2.30pm .. The Fox and Hounds itself is a lovely place as is the atmosphere, no fault whatsoever .. Arrived about 2.20pm and had to wait sometime to be able to ask for our table as only one person behind the bar and she kept... More

Had a light lunch here sitting outside. Very pleasant atmosphere and nicely served very tasty food. Would certainly recommend The Fox and Hounds at Lyndhurst for good food and good selection of drinks.

Working at the Beaulieu Autojumble, we went in 'on spec.' hoping for an evening table for two. The pub had evidently been taken over and refreshed since our last visit and we were soon seated. The menu is relatively short - usually a sign of fresh, rather than 'boil in the bag' food - and we chose potted crab and... More

Called in for a bite to eat on first eve if our holiday Really warm welcome and excellent service, not a large menu, but that means everything is cooked fresh which is fab, we both managed it quickly select a dish Beautifully presented food, lovely table decorations and swift professional service. The attention to detail was very good, food was... More

We ordered three Sunday lunches expecting a really nice meal as the prices were a bit on the high side (twice the price of a roast at my local pub). Roast Beef was (overcooked) dry and powdery and had a liver taste! Roast Pork Belly was not pleasant (this really cheap cut of meat needs special attention to cook it... More

A good honest pub with good food at not bad prices, recent revamp as well with a good beer garden outback located in the high street worth a visit

This was by far the best pub we popped into in Lyndhurst. It was clean with happy staff and the space out in the garden was much more welcoming than the others we looked at. The service was good and the outside seating which combined flower beds and soft cushions in within a new oak flipper structure worked well

Very nice, nice garden, loved the shop that's incorporated. Just been renovated to a high standard. Friendly staff, will definitely drink there again when in The New Forest again

I think our waiter was new so I'm allowing for that but the service was extremely poor. The sides that came with our mains, which were fairly meagre portions, were wrong on all four counts and it seems that the sauce you choose to go with the meat is just an accompanying bottle (one of which never turned up at...
