I visited The Mailmans Arms a few weeks ago, I have never been to Lyndhurst before and when passing through to go camping nearby, this pub caught my eye! This place is a real gem. Friendly social atmosphere. Reasonable prices and excellent food. We ended up dining al fresco as the sunshine was such a tonic! Good-quality food, cooked to... More

had a lovely rump steak here and a glass of wine lovely pub and garden staff were very happy to help and I wish we had gone there a bit more wasn't so appealing from the outside that's what put us off but when inside it was great a mixture of locals and holiday makers

Have been here twice for lunch. Just having a sandwich/panini. The first time it seemed to take ages and was not a very friendly service when trying to make light conversation with bar staff! Second time was better. Sandwich was good both times, don't recall price, so it can't have been too expensive. Will certainly be back as I live... More

Liked the fact that you had to wait a while for food, suggesting that meals were individually prepared! This is a nice place with good pub food at a reasonable price, and the wines were very attractively priced too!!

As far as a pub goes this is one of the best I know. As a frequent visitor to Lyndhurst to meet a friend, this is our regular and we always make an effort to pop in. The food is just delightful and you couldn't ask for a more friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I noticed the review below and have... More

Rubbish cream tea, literally a morrisons pack of 2 scones with some long last 5 day cream from the co op and lidl jam with a basic tetley tea. However you are greated by a miserable lady with no customer service experience behind the bar so I guess that makes up for it.... walk up the road abit more and... More

Best Mussels I have ever had. I have had a few over a long period of time but these beat them hands down! House rose went down a treat! Glad we stopped for a meal, lovely garden too! Do not forget it is a pub and, as pub grub goes, this is probably the best meal you can have in... More

Visited with GF (19/07/2014). Refused a refund on pie although it contained cheese (im allergic). Landlady was rude and made to feel unwelcome.

Food was lovely which I suppose is the main thing . I had a dress on and felt very overdressed , jeans would have been more suitable . Tables could do with placemats or centrepieces just something needed to make it look and feel a little better
