As long as you're not coming here for a peaceful dine out, and as long as you don't mind little ones who have just exhausted themselves at Paulton's Park all day, this restaurant would be a very good choice if you are looking for a hearty meal. We had, within the group, a selection of main meals from the menu... More

Had a meal with friends at The Mortimer Arms on New Years Eve and enjoyed the whole evening. The table was set out for our party of 8 with all the festive trimmings and after some drinks ordered our food. The staters and main were all good size portions and cooked to perfection. Understand the steaks were delicious so too... More

My wife and I stopped at this restaurant on our way to visit relatives in the area ans we are very pleased we did. The food was fantastic and plenty of it. We both had a Sunday lunch two course meal for £12.95 each. This was probably to best Sunday lunch we have ever had in a restaurant. The staff... More

Although the menu is not extensive the food is of good quality and well presented. .We thought the it was very good value for the money. The staff are very friendly. We found the service to be good but it was quiet. We have visited previously with friends all of whom enjoyed their meal. We would certainly go again.

We stopped for lunch at the Mortimer Arms, as the neighbouring chain pub was too busy. I'm so glad we did! The food was sooo tasty, served hot and definately tasted as freshly prepared. We both had main and desert and were so full, did not eat dinner that night:-) I can recommend both the vegetarian linguini and pork &... More

We attended an eightieth birthday meal on a Saturday evening in July, the menu had been decided and ordered several months earlier, and the kitchens knew exactly what to expect from the 18 attending guests. However on the evening there seamed to be nothing but confusion , all guests had been reminded of what they had ordered, but some guests... More

We stopped for dinner on a Monday evening after a day in Paulton Park (6 adults & 3 kids). The food was very nice, but a little expensive for a pub. The biggest problem was the service. The staff were friendly, but service was very slow and unattentive. There appeared to only be 2 members of staff, one in the... More

We used a groupon voucher which was for 2 courses and a glass of wine and to our surprise you could even have the king prawn starter (which I did) my partner had the Home made tomato soup. We visited with a friend who chose from the set Sunday lunch menu (available all day) and was excellent value at 11.95... More

I was on holiday from Manchester visiting friends in the Southampton area. I used to live in this area in the early 80’s and worked at Mort’s (as it was known back then!) in both the bar and kitchen It was such a lovely surprise to go back after all these years. The building has had a brilliant overhaul and... More
