We booked a table for 7 and read a few of the reviews on here. Very glad to say that we were very satisfied with the service and food. Admittedly a Thursday lunchtime may not have been the busiest time of the week but the staff were very pleasant and attentive. We were attended by four staff in total and... More

Thought we would give the Restaurant another go. Menu has changed a little but some of the old problems are still there - long wait for drinks as not enough staff, food expensive for what it is. Staff were pleasant and tried hard, but seemed to be overworked. The special I had for a Starter was poor value and my... More

On my travels around Europe I have rarely eaten in such a friendly quality establishment as this one. The food was of a very high quality, well presented and truly delicious. In honesty I have to say it was the best roast dinner I have had in a very long time. We were served by Monika who was like a... More

All in all, not bad. Lovely surroundings and great to sit out in the garden. The food was pretty good but not particularly good value. The ham, egg and chips was rather mean and at £10 I expected a little bit more. A single slice of ham, 2 eggs and about a dozen chips looked a bit lost on the... More

Went to the Oatsheaf on Thursday the 14th just with a couple of friends. They had jazz playing in the middle of the bar and it was fantastic, we had some drinks and some food and everything was superb the waitress was quick and knowledgable and I couldn't have been any happier.

The Oatsheaf is my local and I have noticed some people giving it hard time. I eat and drink in the Oatsheaf every week and never had a bad meal. Drinks prices are reasonable with a wide range for everyone, when beck's is prices at £3.15 a pint how can you say that's expensive?? The team are working hard to... More

My partner and I visited the Oatsheaf on Saturday evening for the first time in ages. Service slow and staff looked angry. We decided to sit in the back garden. The outdoor furniture what covered in leafs and bird poo. Weeds growing everywhere on the patio, with all the joints filled with cigarette butts. Paving slabs have sunk leaving a... More

I've eaten here a few times now and enjoyed good food accompanied by good service. However on this visit the service really let down the experience. The food here is really very good on the whole, but I don't expect to have to ask for the privilege of ordering it. Wine was ordered and never arrived. The time taken to... More

This place has had some severe ups and downs over the years but our recent visit was really very good. Jason is always eager to please and runs a tight ship, it seems like the staff appreciate his input and want to work hard to please him. A very down-to-earth guy who makes a huge difference to EVERYTHING in this... More
