We used the Oatsheaf for a party for 60+ people and everyone commented on how pleasant and welcoming the pub was! how good the drinks were (though not cheap!) and how enjoyable the buffet food was

The Oatsheaf is a brilliant pub to enjoy a drink in the garden as well as some food. The sharers are a great idea for big groups and the drinks are not expensive, and there was plenty of choice. The staff welcomed us and suggested we sit in the sunshine and enjoy a drink before coming inside to grab some... More

Went for a quick lunch with some friends, never thought of it before but had the pizza and chips which were so good. Staff were really friendly, it was a nice relaxed way to spend the time and I'll definitely be coming back again and I think it would be a great place to go for an evening meal. Highly... More

From the outside, The Oatsheaf looks like a busy pub with lots of outdoor seating. Once inside, however, whilst still a pub to the left, to the right reveals a much more intimate, although busy, restaurant. The food is delicious and varied, with something to suit everyone. Service isn't always great so expect a wait. On the other hand, you... More

We booked a table for 7 and read a few of the reviews on here. Very glad to say that we were very satisfied with the service and food. Admittedly a Thursday lunchtime may not have been the busiest time of the week but the staff were very pleasant and attentive. We were attended by four staff in total and... More

Thought we would give the Restaurant another go. Menu has changed a little but some of the old problems are still there - long wait for drinks as not enough staff, food expensive for what it is. Staff were pleasant and tried hard, but seemed to be overworked. The special I had for a Starter was poor value and my... More

On my travels around Europe I have rarely eaten in such a friendly quality establishment as this one. The food was of a very high quality, well presented and truly delicious. In honesty I have to say it was the best roast dinner I have had in a very long time. We were served by Monika who was like a... More

All in all, not bad. Lovely surroundings and great to sit out in the garden. The food was pretty good but not particularly good value. The ham, egg and chips was rather mean and at £10 I expected a little bit more. A single slice of ham, 2 eggs and about a dozen chips looked a bit lost on the... More

Went to the Oatsheaf on Thursday the 14th just with a couple of friends. They had jazz playing in the middle of the bar and it was fantastic, we had some drinks and some food and everything was superb the waitress was quick and knowledgable and I couldn't have been any happier.
