Having read the review of 21st August 2014 it is difficult to believe that I am writing about the same restaurant. I was with a party of 12 last Saturday, (our ages ranged from 13 to 84) and I cannot find fault. It being a Saturday the restaurant filled up, probably to capacity, and there was not a lot of... Can't believe, having lived in Warsash all our lives, we have never visited the Nook and Cranny! We have certainly missed out! The food is beautiful and the service excellent. We both had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. A lovely little restaurant and such a lovely peaceful setting. No loud background music; no badly behaved kids; no... More

The beauty about this restaurant is the food does not change and is always consistently excellent . Classic French cuisine fine well. It is not flashy or pretentious but the dishes are classics. The atmosphere fits the bill. It is not neon and chrome and in true French style a little shabby around the edges. The welcome is warm and... More

First: it's a restaurant, the food is excellent. After a superb loin of pork, we enjoyed the nougat glacé and a bread and butter pudding (particularly good-I am assured by a b+bp officianado!) Second: the service is attentive, friendly and utterly unpretentious, which we enjoyed. You do get served, which makes a change. Third: original art work for sale. Fourth:... More

First visit despite living locally for over 20 years. Went with friends and all four of us found the food excellent, surprisingly few tables (just four) were taken for a Friday night but maybe we had better service because of it. Very good wine list and choice of food at a reasonable price. We all had three courses and not... More

I would like to say a big thanks to Mrs K Wood. I would love for anyone to come down and have a meal here as the food is amazing and the service is excellent. The tables are the right size for fat matt to fit all his food on... I have tried everything they have on their menu. I... More

Looks a bit run down from the outside and it's no better inside. It feels cold and damp. Electic plug in radiators next to the tables. Carpet worn out. The tables are crammed in, so much so that every time a new customer arrived I had to stand up to let them by. I complained about having to stand, "that's... More

Visited one Saturday evening with family and we weren't disappointed. Originally, we'd booked a table for 4 people (which was OK) and were advised that they'd be busy that night. However, some last-minute additions meant that our party had grown to 6. Frantic telephone calls with the restaurant and they arranged a miracle with some careful re-arrangement of furniture ~... This place is a tad odd, it looks like someones large lounge, but the food is fantastic. All home cooked and without doubt the best steak i have ever had anywhere in the UK.Puddings were also fantastic. Not cheap but well worth it.
