Bland and always missing a naan!

We had so many great eat in meals when the restaurant first opened. Amazing naan breads, flavourful food. Yes, the service can be slow but in my opinion this was down to the food being cooked fresh (as possible). Our takeaway tonight will be the last at Spice Village i'm afraid. My partner... read more

Waiter constantly just slammed plates and dishes down on the table. No line pickle with papadoms, asked for it twice until it finally arrived. Food very average at best. Finally, the lager on tap was off and very flat but we were not offered our money back despite not drinking them! We heard from the staff that the owner keeps... More

Staying in the local area for work we ventured out to the local curry house. As a midweek night we weren't expecting it to be too busy which it wasn't. We must have been stood in the reception area for a good 20minutes before being acknowledged by the staff. This seemed to be a continuous theme in this establishment. When... More

Turned up at 6.30pm, just has a main course, and escaped at 9.30pm. In between these times we had to endure long waits for ordering, drinks, clearing of table and the bill. Real shame as it's an ok place and the food is ok - when it turns up. If you have a life I would strongly recommend giving this... More

Lovely indian restaurant! Great service and great food. Portions are quite big. Seemed clued on when it came to gluten free options which was good for us!

I came here with a group of friends who were staying with me as unfortunately Taste of India next door was unable to cater for all seven of us as it was nearly full that night. The food was churned out with little thought or care and the service was abysmal. It was embarrassing for me after I had invited... More

I visited the spice village when I was staying in a local b @ b and it looked quite nice from the outside. service was very fast but to be truthful I wasn't impressed with the food. the onion bhajis felt like I was eating diced cardboard and my biryani wasn't so nice either although the price was not too... Preface this by saying I am not a fan of Indian food. Came here for dinner with a friend here on 22nd June and because I don't like Indian food I ordered the roast chicken and chips. Was expecting a roast chicken. I got these battered and deep fried balls of chicken that were very dry and some chips. Horrible.... More

Pleasant clean dining area. Service was ok. I had a chicken balti with a spinach side. The balti wasn't as I expected, a very orangey sauce rather than brown and tasting more like a curry than a balti. Chicken also had a strange texture. It was ok just not what I was expecting. Nan bread very good. No hot dip... More
